On this episode of An Old School Album Review we're taking a look at the Canadian band AXMINISTER..
They just released a new single and we've asked some of our peers in the music industry to check it out..

AxMinister are FUN! Not only is the music catchy and the sound quality high, but the accompanying video is RAD! They put a lot of time and effort into this video for sure. It's resplendent with sword fighting, people being held captive, blood, death, and of course the band playing dressed in robes in front of a crowd; all inside a barn head banging and hay flying everywhere! It's glorious and cheeky in the best way. Now, onto the music. This has a traditional heavy metal vibe with some vocals on the lower range in a gruff voice. My cup of tea for sure. Lots of syncopated riffs and solid rhythms that are definitely toe tappers. I found myself bobbing my head the entire time. There is some pretty tasty solos from both of the guitar players as well, including the 2nd solo which is complete with a spike in the tempo. It's almost like a power metal band decided to play Black Sabbath riffs and sing death metal! Pretty great stuff! Highly recommended. \,,/ \,,/

Ax minister- these guys are pretty dam cool with there old rock sound with also kinda a Viking rock in there as well, plus I love the title. I listened to this a few times  cuz I love about 3 and 1/2 minutes in how the guitar player with the cape just takes off and melts your face off with some wickedness in the solo of his guitar also how they have a good full sound with just the 3 of them I think it would be aweaome to jam with these guys and look forward to hearing more of them in my personal mix and in the future.

Awesome. Starting off as a march reminiscent of a Manowar song, it turns into a very hard edged Thrash Metal tune about halfway through. Love the use of the 8-stringed guitar, it adds to the driving sound.... these guys are KILLER! 🤘🤘

I really like the sound these guys bring.. the bass is way bottom heavy and Steve shreds the 8 string guitar..
These guys are a super tight band and know what sound they're looking for..
The video was super good as well going back and forth between live scenes and filmed scenes..
It's just got a thrash metal and a doom metal feel all at the same time..
I love the drumming on this song as well and I especially liked the way the vocals sounded..
This was such a great song they should be proud!!!
