I am Jacob Hoopes and I sing for The Age Of Ore
2.What / Who made you want to sing?
I was in a music program, and they were short a singer, so I decided, having never sung before, to sing Separate Ways by Journey, and then I decided to continue singing after that.
3.Who was the first singer you saw live that gave you chills?
Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson is awesome, I saw him sing with Iron Maiden in Philadelphia, and it was incredible, his energy, ability and stage presence.
4.Many people say heavy music is just screaming, How would you combat that statement?
I believe that heavy music has to be a perfect balance between gritty singing and clean, meticulous, beautiful singing.
5.If you growl or do harsh vocals how do you keep your voice after such violent performances?
I take honey and apple cider vinegar that helps with my voice after singing harshly.
6. Do you have a warm up routine? Tell u bout it ?
I do some scales and stuff, nothing too rigorous before a show, maybe warm up during the sound check.
7. Do you think power or performance is more important?
Both. Vocal power is critical to actually make your music sound the best it can be, and high energy performance is key to getting people interested in your show.
8. Who do you think gets unfair vocal praise, someone the world thinks is great but is not? / And who is great but does not get the credit?
I think that Tom Petty gets too much hype. I think that Myles Kennedy is a great vocalist that much more people should listen to.
9.Name your top 5 vocalist
