1.Why Bass?
I started playing Guitar when I was Twelve but since I am left handed I had to carry my guitar around and in school they had all instruments but no left handed instruments. So I picked up a right handed bass and now I play bass right handed and guitar lefthanded, so I guess you can sum it up as Lazy but it got me to learn two instruments. It was in High school so having not to carry it was magical.
2.Do you think it is unfair or just lack of knowledge bass gets so little credit?
Unfair and unfair, it depends in what sense. Most musicians understand the importance of bass players, plus I think I am not the best to answer this question as I am quite opposite to the standard bass player. In one of my bands “Acid pussy” I have forbidden the use of guitar so up til now we only have Drums, vocals and Bass. Plus being a song writer and composer I normally don’t seem like the regular bass player. I do admire all people who play bass as it is a fantastic instrument and I love playing it.
3.What kind of bass do you use?

MusicMan sterling, special edition marine blue and hippie pic protector. Year is probably between 1888 and 2001. I was offered a rebate of it by an ernie ball retailer when I was 22 as I played bass in a 70s rockband back in Helsingborg, Sweden. When I played it since I let all other bass players in my bands use it I establish no bass sounds better or stronger. Im a sucker for being heard or as Kimmo (Wamufo from Bofo Kwo) would put it: Ted might be in love with himself and his musical inabilities. I don’t even own a backup bass ☹
4.Tell us about your amplification
I normally use what the studio or the practice space offers as AMP, same for venues when we play live, or I ask the support bands to borrow their gear. Kimmo thought me that trick, as it saves carrying heavy stuff and we both try to avoid carrying stuff, hence none of us are proclaimed drummers. I do have a custom-made pedal board that Ama from Acid Pussy designed and put together, where I fit a bunch of pedals I use somehow I guess? It makes the space sound thingy I like.
5. With all of that being said do you feel tone is an important thing for bass?
Yes, I always play around with tone, different ways of hitting the notes, and pedals for various sound. Strangely enough when I play Guitar I don’t use pedals but with my bass sound and tone is something I play around with a lot. And I love to slap.
6.Do you prefer 5 strings over 4 string?
Mine is 4 strings so I say 4 strings.
7.Who is your favorite bassist?
Honestly Kimmo Lindholm (Bofo Kwo, Vicky lovecat, Bitch Alert, Planet Zerpo). He has a very great tone and sense for when to support or dominate a song; and one of the reasons we connected musically I assume, that or napping? He also lays down the bass track on the Bofo Kwo recordings and they are a significant part of the sound. I also like Davie 504 cause he is crazy.

8. Who is your least favorite bassist?
I don’t like to nag about others playing, so I will pick myself.

9.Why do you think women seem to be attracted to playing bass?
Are they?
Since I am so old maybe D’arcy from Smashing Pumpkins inspired women? I don’t really have time to count amount of female bass players, I am still trying to come to terms with the choices I made playing this instruments while wearing some clothing I am not proud of.
