GRIEVERS INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

G R I E V E R S:

The project was born in Milan in June 2008 from the idea of Roberto Palmiero and Matteo Giugno, friends and guitarists.

After the meeting with Luca Croci, the bassist, they formed their first line-up:

Michele Spallieri (vox), Roberto Palmiero (lead guitar), Matteo Giugno (rhythm guitar), Luca Croci (bass guitar) and Salvatore Siragusano (drum)

In 2010 the band recorded their first demo and later on their first full-lenght album, Reflecting Evil, containing 8 unreleased tracks for the 

italian label Punishment 18 Records.

Syra left the band in 2011 and was replaced by a new talented drummer, Valentino De Lucia.

So the Grievers returned to the live scene, supporting Impaled Nazarene, Gama Bomb, Alestorm, Skitzo and many more.

In 2013 they started recording the new album but, for reasons unknown, the project has stopped.

After 4 years of inactivity, the project restarted in 2017 with a new guitarist, Andrea Parafioriti and they finished The Eternal Pleasure Of Revenge, 

their second album for the new label Sliptrick Records.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

G R I E V E R S:

...... sincerely at that time, we really played a lot with the playstation and someone from the band was fond of a particular video game and finally we 

say that all this has influenced the choose of the band name hahahahaha.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

G R I E V E R S:

the true origins of the band come from melodic death metal and metalcore, these influences can be heard in Reflecting EviL our first album, 

certainly in The Eternal Pleasure Of Revenge, we played by inserting many ingredients of various genres but our melodic line fortunately is remained and 

it has also improved ...

In Italy we know many bands, but unfortunately they play our kind as we do we do not know heheheheheh we ourselves have always inspired by bands 

from northern Europe, Australia, America but never in Italy.

4. How would you describe your style?

G R I E V E R S:

o yeah, it' really simple, the GVRS sound is the mix of melodic death metal (North Europe style) and metalcore (USA style).

The guitar solos is always melodic and clean, the riffing and the rhythm section creates many changes of time and  powerfull breakdown while 

the modern sound is always bright and sharp. Finally the powerful voice gives the character and the particularity of the Grievers style.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

G R I E V E R S:

the band has released 2 albums since 2010, the first work is Reflecting EviL an album of 8 songs that shows the true character of the band from 

the beginning while the second is The Eternal Pleasure Of Revenge a mini concept album of 4 chapters where the listener can find new and modern 

influences as well as a story related to music.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

G R I E V E R S:

Currently nothing new but surely the third album will arrive!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

G R I E V E R S:

absolutely yes!!! We have already resumed the live scenes in Italy, and we have also just played at the last summer festival, honestly 

we are thinking you'll go back to abroad, who knows where we'll end ...

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

G R I E V E R S: 

Well now that we have reformed, let's just go on to write good music !!!
