Please tell us about the band and its members.

The band BloodWork Salvation:

Back in 2010 front man Peter Leyland (myself) and former drummer Nathan Kenny reconnected after 10 years of distance. Both of us had a drive to get back into the writing and building process of a band, to follow a passion, this is when the band recruited Andy Crook on bass, Kristian Unsworth and Steven Scoular, through the years some members followed their own path for work and lost their interest in this industry, however within the fallout we hired Benjamin Mcdonald and David harper. Together we grow and thrive through the staleness of life

Bloodwork Salvations songs are always a well thought up construct. The debut album terror of reality focused heavily on the day to day struggles everyone has on the inside. From the frustration of a ‘dead-end’ life to the brutality of depression and alcoholism, the album was made to speak to those dealing with their emotions, letting individuals know they are not alone and that you can grow and overcome.

The new album in the works ‘A new breed of violence’ focuses heavily on current day events, social networking pressure or being pressured into following another’s belief as it appears if your opinion is controversial even if factually correct you will be scorned. This album will also include dealing with overcoming mental conditions or issues alongside a reminder that to let go and have fun is required from time to time.

Who Does the Majority of the writing? Is it a group thing or does someone handle writing duties?

Initially to inspire creation we usually Jam after a difficult session, through this David provides the inspiration for the songs direction via hard hitting riffs, this is then supported by Andy and Ben to give all the songs an overwhelming sound with the perfect blend of raw attitude and a clear structure, the follow up of this is the meaning of the song given to it via Pete’s production of lyrics, creating a deep and passionate meaning to show an understanding of the struggles of every individual, this ranges from heartache to insecurity, depression and of course violence.

 

Where is the band based out of? Where did you want the band to end up? What was the dream city to have as your home base once you got out of your scene?

Bloodwork Salvations sound is a combination of thrash, Groove and melodic metal. The initial goal for us was simply to have fun, however 7 years on and though we understand the work and grind this could take we wish to play festivals from Download to Wacken and shows through Asia, Europe, and America. Simply put worldwide. I think every individual member has their own preference, for me (Front man Pete) it’s got to be the Canary Islands, or just somewhere warm where I can get out on a motorbike, with a great view of a sunset over the sea sipping a cold pina collada at night, though I’m very aware that may sound very dull compared to the current headlining bands of today.

What is your genre? What bands do you use to explain to people what you sound like?

Bloodwork Salvation currently lead more towards grove metal currently, though drummer Ben has huge influences through Lamb of God, Andy on Bass is inspired by Metallica, Dave the guitarists draws influence from Black label society and Machine head (Robb Flynn currently uses a guitar Dave designed on stage) and Pete the Vocalist draws inspiration from Slipknot, Parkway Drive, Killswitch engage and Pantera.

Can we buy anything from you CD’S Shirts etc and where can we buy them?

We do have Bloodwork Salvation T-Shirts (Sizes L), Patches, the debut album Terror of reality and we have a special addition CD we give out at Festivals with Live music, and up and coming songs included. We are currently also working on wristbands, fingerless gloves and new Tshirt designs. These can all be ordered via contacting us at Bloodworksalvation@gmail.com or on our Facebook. We are currently working with local shops in Wigan town centre at the markets to also include merchandise there.

Do you have studio time lined up anything new coming soon? 

We are currently recording our new single for the Album ‘ A new breed of violence’ the single to be released is ‘Knee deep in the dead’ as which some will recognise is inspired by doom, following this single we will be recording our most chilling song to date ‘Town of silence’ The live versions of these songs will shortly be available on our Wix website and Youtube page.

Have you ever been on tour? If so where and with who?

We have not however Bloodwork Salvation are currently planning our first ever tour, this will include venues in the north west of England and some venues in the midlands, we hope this will be our first stepping stone in order to build a bigger community and to go further and further.

What is your favourite band? Who are the bands who influenced you?

I have previously stated who our sound was influenced by, but for me it all started with Linkin Park and Slipknot, I do have a wide range of variety in the music I enjoy from fall out boy to Death back to Devlin. I have been influenced by Chester from Linkin Park, Corey from slipknot and Jesse from Killswitch Engage.

What about your music do you want people to remember? What is the quality you want to hit people when they hit play?

As the front-man and lyricist for the band I want people to remember how much strength they have inside, they can remember the music for the Joy music brings, to sing along or to have those amazing moments at a concert, but I want people to be inspired, to know no matter how hard it gets and how dark it seems that they are important, strong and most importantly they are not alone. For the quality of the music, I want them to press play, as soon as that riff kicks in it makes them turn it up, say “OHHH” and instantly bang their heads.

Name a person that is integral to your band that nobody knows about? What person drives your band like they are a part of the band? Who is the extra member?

Vicky Michelle Moore, a fan of ours in the beginning started to offer a hand and she has been unbelievable, aiding me in advertising, growth and booking shows, she takes so much pressure off from the band and I couldn’t appreciate that more due to this we have given her the title of our Network and growth ambassador.

Tell nerds like me tell us about your live rig and equipment.

Andy: “Ltd F-105 custom design bass and a Laney RBW300 amp with rowin golden plugs”

David: “For live shows i use an epipone les paul prophecy GX, a blackstar ID 30 amp, i also have a randall RH 150 for venues with house cabs, rowin golden plug wireless guitar transmitters and various pedals.”

Ben: “Mapex armoury cymbal stands and kickpedal,

Paiste and mienl cymbals and mapex armoury daisey cutter snare”

What is your musical guilty please that you’re ashamed of? 

I don’t believe I’m ashamed of any music I listen to. I believe you should be proud of who you are and what you enjoy, though I do get funny looks when I begin to sing Fall-out-boy, passenger or the village people. “Macho Macho Man I’ve got to be a macho man” 

If you could custom build a band who would be the members?

I’d choose Zakk Wylde on guitar, Reginald Arvizu on bass, Chris Adler on drums, and Matt Heafy with the old school Trivium style vocals, that’s just me I’m sure Andy, Dave and Ben would chose some interesting choices too.

Message to the fans? What is it?

I’ve said earlier our overall message about supporting and giving back to the fans and that we will always go out of our way for them, but as for a message right now?
