SEVEN HELLS INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Seven Hells are a 5 piece metal band formed late 2016. Since the formation of the band there have been two lineup changes, Marc Cross joined as vocalist in 2017 and Ollie Wellings joined as bassist in 2018. The band quickly made a name for themselves in the local Leicester metal scene and have recently just won the 2018 Leicester Metal To The Masses competition to play Bloodstock Festival.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band name was actually inspired by the seven deadly sins, we loved the concept and meaning behind this and after a suggestion from our guitarist Dan the name Seven Hells was chosen.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are
there any local bands you could recommend?
We are from Leicester in the East Midlands and are fortunate enough to be part of a great community of unsigned bands! There is a lot of talent and bands that are building a strong following - Resin, Blood Oath, Internal Conflict, Dawn of Anubis and Fractions are just a few of the bands worth checking out.
4. How would you describe your style? Powerful groove, crushing riffs and a hardcore deliverance. With such a wide variety of influences in the band we have elements of multiple sub genres of metal and no two songs sound the same.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your
works? At the moment we have not released anything however we will be releasing our debut EP “prologue” on the 3rd August! The EP will consist of four tracks and we feel it is a great introduction to the band and will have people wanting more. The video for our first single of the EP will be dropping mid July.

6. Do you have any new music in the works? We are constantly writing and have a lot of new material in the works, some of which we think is our best stuff yet. We are aiming to get this new stuff recorded early 2019 and release it some time next year.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out? At the moment our main focus is the Bloodstock warm up weekend, launching our EP and then Bloodstock shortly after. After this we have a few more shows booked and will be looking to add as many as we can to this so watch this space.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band? We really feel the sky is the limit, we are going to make the most of the platform Bloodstock gives us and create a real hype about the band with the goal of playing more festivals and getting onto some bigger tours.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff? From the 3rd August our EP will be available on streaming websites such as Spotify and available to buy through our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/SevenHellsUK . We also have some awesome merch due to be released soon so be sure to like our page to be kept up to date with this.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time? We want them to notice that we aren’t just your average metal band, we pour a lot of emotion into the music and we want them to instantly connect with that and feel like they’ve just discovered one of their new favorite bands.
