1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We started as programs in a computer and decided to “get a life” and start a band. We left our digital world and computation abilities to live in bio bodies and play music.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
I was driving down the PCH late on a foggy night. Seriously. I saw a sign glowing out from the fog. A large liquor store sign was missing the “LI”, it simply read, “QUOR”. At the time we were working under the name WAGTBA or “We Are Going To Be Awesome”. No one was particularly committed to the name WAGTBA and a “band” name was the last thing we were concerned about at the time. There has been a flood of contrived type names in the genre and we just didn’t put much weight into a name. But, that busted glowing sign just seemed striking and definitely not something expected. QUOR would be a word that would build it’s definition or perception of meaning on what we put into the project instead of a project being defined by it’s name.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
San Diego. This is a large city full of talented people. It’s a monster waiting to be released. Big Goat, Mimi Zulu, Little Hurricane, Cattle Decapitation, Etc, Etc…
4. How would you describe your style?
System of a Down had sex with Mastodon and had a child similar to In Flames who liked to listen to Sevendust and Nothing More.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We released an EP named in honor of our first band name place holder: “We Are Going To Be Awesome” That was followed by the second release “Human Paradigm“and most recently the EP “The Way We Are”.
You can expect an ever-evolving sound and theme of works that respect the path forged and the path ahead.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
WE just released the EP “The Way We Are”. We’ll likely be back in the studio at the end of the year.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Beginning July 7th we’ll be on tour through out the US starting in Dallas and moving through Chicago and the Midwest. A Pacific Northwest tour is in the works for September and we’ll be back in Japan in October.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
To become androids that love analog.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Spotify has been a great place to listen to our music and YouTube for video. But, you can find us in most platforms of distribution.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Remember to follow us on the platform your listening from and come see us on tour.
