1. Please tell us about the history of
your band and its members.
Sarea started out back in 2008 but changed sound in 2009 and started
working on the debut album Alive which was released in 2010.
The current lineup however fresh it seems on paper since John just
recently became a fulltime member.
Is the same as it's been the last 1,5 years due to an injury to Calle
Larsson that has put his drumming on hold for some time.
What’s the origin of the band’s
name?
It is a well hidden secret that only a few people know. We would like
to keep it that way.
Where is the band based out of and what
is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could
recommend?
Sarea is based out of Norrköping which is situated 2 hours south of
Stockholm, Sweden.
The music scene in Norrköping is pretty diverse and used to be a good
place to find great underground rock/metal bands.
Nowadays there are only a few venues left to play at which has made it
harder for new bands to get noticed. But there are a few great bands
from Norrköping.
We would recommend you to check out, The Nifters, Year of the Goat,
Skraeckoedlan, Pg.lost and of course the black metal giants Marduk.
How would you describe your style?
We play guitar driven melodic metal, a mixture of sparkling melodies
and pitch black darkness. Big choruses, big production, a melodic fist
to the face.
What have you released so far and what
can someone expect from your works?
Sarea has released 3 full length albums and 6 singles.
Albums: Alive (2010), This Is Not Goodbye (2014), Black At Heart (2017).
And matching singles from those albums.
You can expect the same as you would from any other swedish metal band,
high quality it terms of production and songwriting. We put our heart
and souls into everything we release.
Do you have any new music in the works?
We are in the early stages of writing for our next album, no release
date has been set.
How about playing shows and touring,
have anything planned out?
This year has not exactly panned out the way we thought or had
planned it to go. BUt these things were out of our hands. We still have
a few shows booked at this point.
In couple of weeks we are performing a couple of shows in both Sweden
and Denmark. We are currently trying to get more shows booked for
autum/winter.
What plans do you have for the future
as a band?
Writing and releasing new music and of course get booked on a few
tours as we all love to be on the road. At this point we are also
planning for future musicvideos.
To further evolve as a band and grow a larger fanbase.
Where can we listen to your band and
where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to Sarea on all the biggest streaming services and
also check our videos on youtube. For official merchandice we recommend
you visit www.sareamusic.com
What is it you’d like a listener to
remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
The energy, the hopelessness, the desperation, the honesty, the
anger and the longing for more.
