WHOE DOESNT LOVE Oxygen Destroyer?

Please tell me about the history of the band and it's members

Jordan Farrow came up with the idea for Oxygen Destroyer back in 2014, the goal was to create music inspired by Old School Death/Thrash bands like Demolition Hammer and Morbid Saint and combine it with lyrical themes inspired by Giant Monster Movies.

OD started out as a three piece with Dakota Miller on Bass, Danny Burg on drums, and Jordan Farrow on Guitar and Vocals, the band began playing live in early 2015.

After a few shows Danny ended up leaving the band and was replaced by Rodney Serrano. Rodney was the Guitarist/Vocalist of local Black Metal band Hereticon and enjoyed OD's Teutonic Thrash inspired sound so he decided to join the band full time.

Dakota Miller left the band after a few more shows in order to focus on his main Doom/Sludge project Darkmysticwoods so   Rodney got his friend Joey Walker to play Bass for OD.

The band played many shows throughout 2015 but as the year drew to a close Rodney was sad to reveal that he was developing carpel tunneling and couldn't drum for the band anymore.

Jordan considered giving up but Joey convinced him to try having the band jam with Chris Craven, one of the best drummers in the Seattle metal scene who was known for drumming for local Death/Thrash band Perception at the time.

The band got together with Chris one Saturday morning and everything went perfectly.
Chris's style brought the band to a whole new level, OD was now tighter and more pummeling than ever before.

With this new lineup, OD was back in full force and played many shows throughout 2016, midway through the year Joey switched from Bass to Guitar and Ben Williams became the bands new Bass Player.

Since then the bands lineup has stayed the same, with Jordan Farrow on Guitar/vocals, Joey Walker on Guitar, Ben Williams on Bass, and Chris Craven on Drums.

What's the origin of the band name

The name is a reference to the device that killed the original Godzilla in 1954.

Where is the band based out of and what is the scene like. Are there any locals you'd recommend

We're based in Seattle WA. The metal scene is brimming with kickass bands. We definitely recommend checking out Drawn and Quartered, Effluvia, Dilapidation, Ghostblood, Kommand, Progenitor, Blood and Thunder, Hereticon, Born Without Blood, and Carnotaurus

How would you describe your style

Our style is a combination of OSDM and Teutonic Thrash. In particular, bands like Vader, Protector, Kreator, and Sadus are massive influences.

What have you released so far and what can one expect from your works

At the moment we have two demos, a split EP with Carnotaurus, and we just released our debut album in early April

Expect nothing but unrelenting speed and brutality from any of our releases

Do you have any new music in the works

We're currently working on some new material for 3 upcoming splits that have yet to be announced and we just started writing material for the second album

How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

This year we're mostly playing in Seattle and its surrounding areas, we've also been doing our best to play down in Portland more often.

We plan on doing a short west coast tour early next year.

What plans do you have for the future as a band

We're hoping to start playing out of state more often and we're doing our best to make sure that future material is even more pummeling than what we've released  so far.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff

Our music is currently available on Bandcamp and YouTube. Pre-orders for the CD release of our album are available now and can be purchased on Redefining Darkness's Bandcamp page

What is it you'd like the listener to remember most when listening to your music for the first time

Our music is meant to represent nonstop  destruction and chaos. When people listen to our music we want them to feel like everything around them is being crushed.
