KHASM INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

KHASM was born on the ashes of a rock/metal band (name’s not important’cause we were not so famous !). we were tired of playing this kind of music, we wanted metal ! thrash/detah-metal !

In April 2016 we put out a first 4 track EP. We opened for great and famous band such Crusher (one of the french death-metal pioneer), Exodus, Dark Funeral, Krisiun or Anaal Nathrakh. 

Then our bassist left the band by end 2016 followed by our drummer in June 2017. So, Philippe Guitars) and Christophe (Vocals) decided to continue the adventure as the writing process of our new album was begun. A good friend helped us with the bass and we had the great honor that the famous Kevin Talley (Misery Index, Dying Fetus,…) agreed to work with us ! 

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

chasm was a cool name… but with a K instead of C it gets something darker, brutal… metal !

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

we’re coming  from france ! there is a lot of bands in our area and very good ones like CROWN, INHUMATE, MERCYLESS, SIX GRAMMES EIGHT etc…

4. How would you describe your style?

thrash/death-metal with a hardcore touch for the vox !!! that’s all folks !

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

we had released a EP “ fenris”, and now it’s time for “trinity” ! if you like dark, mid tempo, thrash/death-metal, you’ll enjoy listening us !     

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes absolutely ! we already have almost 2 new songs done and a bunch of new riffs recorded. Besides, we’ll work with Jeremiah Augustine of the Hawaiian band Augustine 313 on a collaboration song. And we’re very excited of that !!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

for now there’s nothing planned… but don’t be afraid we are working on it !

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

playing on stage of course ! We plan that for end of this year as we must find a “good” live drummer who will be able to play the awesome drum parts of Kevin Talley.

We have also planned to record a clip.
