1. Please tell us about the about the band and its members.
Stays In Vegas is a hard rock, alternative rock three piece band out of Little Rock, AR.
We began as a 90’s to now alternative rock cover band that switched to originals only in
2014. We have two studio albums and are currently working on our third due out this fall.
2. Who does the majority of the writing? Is it a group thing or does someone handle the
writing duties?
Most of the songwriting is done by our singer and guitarist Christopher Fulmer. He will
come up with songs and riffs and bring them to the band and see if they work. But we've
had quite a bit of songs that have been written in practice by the entire band. We will just
start jamming on something and 15 minutes later we have a new song. Our new single
Lower I Go was kinda one of those moments.
3. Where is the band based out of ? Where did you want to the band to end up? What
was the dream city to have as your home base once you got out of your scene?
We are currently based out of the Little Rock, AR area (Cabot, AR specifically). As far as
dream city to be based out of, I think Little Rock is perfect. We have an incredible music
scene here with some amazing local bands, but the venue system for live music is
dwindling and not a lot of places open to new and upcoming bands. But we are perfectly
located close to some major musical locales. Little Rock is 5 hours or under from
Memphis, Nashville, Dallas, St. Louis, Oklahoma City/Tulsa, New Orleans, so for touring
it's a perfect spot. Just not a lot of attention from music industry here.
4. What is your genre? What bands do you use to explain to people what you sound
like?
We are a mix of hard rock, grunge, punk and alternative. Best way to describe us is if
you mixed Nirvana and Tool, then throw in some Helmet and Ramones, add some
Queensryche and Queens of the Stone Age for flavor…you might get some Stays In
Vegas haha.
5. Can we buy anything from you Cd's shirts etc and where can we buy them?
All our albums and songs are available for download from iTunes, Amazon Music, CD
Baby or you can stream on Spotify and Pandora. We are currently working on our
website to add merchandise and CDs to purchase there at
www.staysinvegasofficial.com and on our Facebook page.
6. Do you have studio time lined up anything new coming soon?
Yes, we are currently in the middle of recording our third studio album Kings of Queens.
It's a 5-6 song EP that should be released this fall. Our first single from the album is
Lower I Go and was released in May and is available everywhere right now
7. Have you ever been on tour? If so where and with who?
Yes we we on a regional tour and show dates last year to support our second album
Revelations with various supporting bands and to support local and regional bands as
well. We are currently booking a supporting tour and show dates for our new album and
have some national/world tour possibilities as well.
8. What is your favorite band? Who are the bands who influenced you?
I think the band that influenced us the most in Stays In Vegas would be Nirvana. But
other bands like Green Day, From This Moment, Tool, Silverchair, Muse, they've all had
an influence in some way.
9. Do you have a website? And do I have to verify that I am 18 to enter it?
Yes we do. www.staysinvegasofficial.com and it is free for all ages to explore.
10. What about your music do you want people to remember? What is the quality you
want to hit people when they hit play?
Hmm, that's a good one. I would say to listen to a few of our songs to really see the
diversity of the band and our music. We have songs that can relate to all types of
listeners and genres, so if a hard rock, metal song is your style, we have a few of them.
If youre more grunge and punk, we got songs that will fit you. If you like gritty rock or
acoustic ballads…got a few of those as well. We are music fans just like everyone else,
and think that music should fit all emotions and mind states. So our songs and style give
listeners a mix of styles to choose from. Our live shows do the same as well. Always a
surprise as to what we will play, or what we might even say on stage…always a good
time.
11. Name a person who is integral to your band that nobody knows about , what person
drives your band like they are part of the band? Who is the extra member ?
Gotta give props to our merch girl Lauren Grogan, she keeps us on track with
merchandise and makes sure we don't just throw out all our stuff for free and lose money
haha. And also our roadie team of Kyle and Austin who help us do the hard part. First
and foremost though our spouses and significant others, they are the true energy behind
what we do! But there are sooooooo many people behind our band that we don't even
know where to begin, super fans, other bands that are our brothers and supporters,
venues that are our friends…that is just a never ending question to answer! We couldn't
do what we do without all of them.
12. Tell nerds like me tell us about your live rig and equipment.
Now that's an awesome question. For a three piece rock band, we have a lot of gear lol.
The guitars run out of two, Marshall MG Series 4x12 cabs with a Marshall MG100 Head
and a Marshall CODE 100 Head. Also run a Fender Super Chorus 2x12 Combo Amp.
Guitars include an Ibanez Artcore Semi-Hollowbody and a Fender Jazzmaster guitars
running through multiple effects pedals.
The Bass rig runs through a Peavey 4x10 cab Headliner 1000w amp and also utilizes a
Fender 4x12 cabinet and a Randall 120w head to run both bass and guitar tones.
Drums include Pearl Professional DLX series 5 piece kit with Zildjian cymbals and Alesis
Sample Pro sample pad.
13.What is your musical guilty pleasure that you are ashamed of?
That's a very loaded question for a musician lol. I think we all have our own guilty
pleasures in the band. So instead of guilty pleasure Ill give you our band ritual song. We
always have to play a specific song from a band called Little Big before every show
otherwise we don't have a good show. Its been proven and tested on many occasions,
so we have to play this song…even if we have to call a band member on the phone and
14.If you could custom build a band who would be the members?
Oh I love this one. I think the perfect superband has already been…and that was
Audioslave. Rage Against the Machine and Chris Cornell? Wow. Another close second
is Velvet Revolver..GNR and Scott Wieland.
15.Message to the fans? What is it?
Support your local bands. Go out to a show, discover new music and support the hell out
of them. Buy their merch, rock out at the front of the stage and hangout with them after a
show. The only way to keep music alive in your area is to support the bands that are
coming up and make the venues realize that live music still pays. Call in to local stations
and request they play your fav band. Get on Spotify and hit repeat on the bands playlist.
They notice it, they appreciate it and it keeps them going.
To our fans…we love you so much. We appreciate all that you do for us, and you keep
us going more than ever. We cant wait to see you at our shows and please come say hi,
we might even buy you a beer (or soda if your underage lol).
