1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band was formed in 2016 by Matt Hanchuck. I assembled some songs that I had laying around over the years and elected to do proper recordings of them and potentially release them. I reached out to Glen Drover via social media to have him mix and master the songs. He offered to have his brother Shawn do all the drum tracks and I contacted my former band member Justin Stear to perform the vocals. This turned into our debut Fragments of Anger which was released on Oct 31st 2017.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band's name is an homage to my 2 favorite thrash metal bands...the color and stenciling was inspired by Overkill and the bullet hyphen was taken from the band Vio-lence...which was the only thrash band to my knowledge that ever incorporated a hyphen into their moniker.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Band is based out of 2 places...Thunder Bay Ontario...home of Matt Hanchuck the guitar player and chief songwriter. As well as New Westminster British Columbia, which is a suburb of Vancouver, this is where Aaron Randall (current vocalist) resides.
4. How would you describe your style?
we are purely a thrash metal band...plain and simple. I think what's different about us is that we have a real singer...and not a cookie monster like sooooo many of these new age thrash metal bands
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Our debut Fragments of Anger was released independently on Oct 31st 2017. We have since signed a distribution deal with Alone Records in Greece and the label recently released our debut on limited edition hand numbered 180 gram vinyl.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Our new album Remnants Of Pain is currently being recorded and is almost completed. It features Aaron Randall on vocals, Greg Christian on bass, Dave O'Neal on drums, Matt Hanchuck on Guitars and mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We are planning to do some festival dates in 2019. hopefully the European circuit, and some of the bigger events in Canada
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Hopefully we can sign with a proper label who can promote the band and provide tour support.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can check the band out at Wreck-Defy on bandcamp, or you can contact the band via facebook, Wreck-Defy@underground4560, to purchase a CD or vinyl copy directly from the band.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
A nod to the old school influence from the bay area, and the melodies that the vocals have to offer. Also the shredding guitar solos which have been reintroduced into metal music in the last decade...
