Stage of Reality interview

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members. 

the idea of the band was born in 2012 after Andrea Neri was back from 
touring with Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden). During 2013 Andrea started to 
write new material and in 2014 Stage of Reality was ready to release 
their first album called "The Breathing Machines". At that time the line 
up was: Francesco Marino (vocals), Andrea Neri(guitars), Marco Polizzi 
(bass), Alessandro Accardi (drums), Bernardo Nardini (backing vocals and 
acoustic guitar).
Right before the album release Alessandro Accardi decided to leave the 
band and he was replaced by Daniele Michelacci on drums.
The band started to perfomr in Italy and Spain and in june 2015 Also 
Francesco Marino left the band. He was replaced by Damiano Borgi on vocals.
Stage of Reality started to write new material and in october 2017 they 
were ready to release a new album called "Stage of Reality". Bernardo 
Nardini left the band right before the release and Emiliano Tessitore 
was ready to replace him on guitars.
Now the actual line up is: Damiano Borgi (vocals), Andrea Neri 
(guitars), Emiliano Tessitore (guitars), Marco Polizzi (bass), Daniele 
Michelacci (drums).




2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

 Stage of Reality is a concept born from the idea of a relity lived by 
people who don't realize they are not living for real, They are 
performing a theater play, acting like puppets. So, where's the real 
reality? Is the one we perform on stage or the one off it?

 3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based in Rome, Italy. The scene is not so good nowadays, 
mostly black and death metal stuff or power metal. Everytime we try to 
put up a show with another band we always find so difficult to search 
for a good name which plays almost our genre.

 4. How would you describe your style?

That's not easy at all. I can tell you what people think about us: 
hard rock with some prog influences, from Fates Warning to Queensryche. 
We are not so easy to label....

 5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We released The Breathing Machines (LP - 2014), Dignity (single - 
2015), Never (single - 2016), Beat it (single - 2017), Game of Thrones 
(single 2017), Spectral drum down (single - 2017), Stage of Reality (LP 
- 2017), Not in Vain (single - 2018), Back to Black (single - 2018). We 
got other 2 singles to release during 2018.

 6. Do you have any new music in the works?

 yes, we are working on new stuff right now, maybe we'll be ready for 
the next winter with a brand new single. We are looking for a changement 
so, I cannot tell anything right now, but it's be very new.

 7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

right now we're just back from an east european tour as opening act 
for Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath), we'll be performing on local 
shows and we're waiting for a big one in october, but its' still top secret.

 8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Our plans are to bring the band to US, 'cause everybody thinks our 
sound actually would work better over there. Unfortunaley it's very 
expensive so, we're waiting for the right moment. In the meanwhile we'll 
start working on a new album and we'll see the reaction of the people.
