Immortal Sÿnn Interview

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band was formed on September 15, 2004 when guitarist Tony Z was in high school. After multiple line-up changes and a few poor quality demo songs, the band was placed on hiatus in 2006. After Tony Z’s band, Devoutcast, began to crumble, he decided to bring back Immortal Sÿnn in July of 2012. There were a few more line-up changes, and Toony was the only original member. Finally, they began to play shows in January 2015 with Chase McClellan on vocals and Miguel Ruiz on guitar. Two more members the bassist and drummer would leave soon after the first show, and after a few other changes, eventually Andrew Cop came into the fold in 2017. As of right now, there is no official drummer, but the band has been working with Ryan Bloom as a for-hire musician until a permanent drummer is found.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band is named after the Fight song, “Immortal Sin”.

 3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band is based out of Denver, CO. The most prominent local metal bands would be Havok, Cephalic Carnage, and Allegaeon. We have a very strong metal scene in this city.

4. How would you describe your style?

We started off as a hard rock band, then progressed into traditional metal and thrash. We are moving more toward thrash as a whole.
We released an EP, Barfly, in 2015 which is more of a hard rock album with some traditional metal elements. We released our debut, Machine Men, last year, and it is significantly heavier with more thrash leanings.

 5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We are in the studio right now recording a song for a compilation to be released on Crushing Notes Records in July.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are in the studio right now recording a song for a compilation to be released on Crushing Notes Records in July.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We will be touring a few midwestern cities in the US this summer, then we will be heading to Europe for a few weeks.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We plan to tour more extensively after this initial outing, and plan to release music on a more consistent basis.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

reverbnation.com/immortalsynn, youtube.com/immortalsynnband, immortalsynn.bandcamp.com

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

To just enjoy it and to look for words/themes in the lyrics that you may not know - go look them up and you may learn something new!
