1.Thanks for your time. Tell us about your band and what you do for your band.

Me, as Ivan Lattanzi, I am the main songwriter, main vocalist and guitarist of Stealth.

Just after me and Daniele formed the first line up of Metal Militia

during spring 1997, Lorenzo Pimpini (guitars) and

Roberto Rastelli (drums) joined us at the beginning of the

following year. This has been the line up until summer 2000.

We changed name into Stealth during spring 2000 while the

original line up was still in place. We commonly agreed

to change name because at that time we felt like we were

to closely associated with Metallica and even though we were

at that time performing few Metallica songs, we already released

2 EPs of our own music. So we changed into Stealth to avoid

people thinking we were just a cover band.

2.When did you decide you wanted to be in a band?

At the age of 16. I grew up listening to mainly metal,

from thrash old school to classic power style, to industrial,

nu metal and death. My prefer ones are Iron Maiden and

Metallica (both until early 90s) Pantera, Sepultura, Fear Factory

and Machine Head. Surely all these bands pushed me to form a band.

3. What is different about being a musician than you imagined?

It's hard.  At the present the majority of metal bands here in Italy are

formed by people of our age which means more or less they

have been formed during the 90s.

There are much less younger bands and that’s probably due

to many different reasons. First of all probably the fact that

big international metal bands are all from the 70s/80s,

so there hasn’t been new generations taking over.

Probably it’s more difficult for a teenager today to form a band

and find venues where to play and get known to the public.

Until 10 years ago there were much more chances to play live in pubs,

festivals an so on that not today.

4.What gear do you use and why?

I have several guitars, from Ibanez to Jackson and also some classical

and acoustic guitars. I also play the guitar synth to make our songs more

interesting and also sometimes I like adding some groove and FX effects into

our tracks

5. What music do you listen to that would surprise people?

I listen to all genres of music. From classical to folk to alternative.

Especially now I like electronic music. I think it could be the next step for

my band.

6. How do we find your music and merch to buy?

You can find our on line official store at our website www.stealthattack.it;

here you can also listen to our music for free. If you want buy our albums

in digital format you can find them on all the main platforms like Amazon, Spotify,

iTunes etc...

7. How did you get a record deal? Or do you want a record deal or are you DIY?

I used to live in London for 5 years. Here I was well connected with the

underground scene and I met with my friend and brother Ays Kura, singer of

the band Die Kur in which I played for 3 years. He helped me a lot with Stealth

and I signed a distribution deal with his label NMTCG.

8. What bands do people compare your music to?

I think our latest album sound like Fear Factory and Machine Head with also some

influences from Metallica and Iron Maiden. In general we take inspiration from

all the 80s and 90s heavy metal artists.

9. Are you pro Spotify / streaming services ? Or do you think it hurts sales?

All our songs are free streaming on our official website; the music industry

has changed during the last 2 decades and there is nothing that we can do.

10. What’s the ultimate goal for the band?

We’re working on new material and we’re quite ready to record it.

We don’t know if there will be a single, an EP or an album but

we should be ready to release something new soon.

We’re recording some of the gigs that we’re playing and probably

we’ll be ready to release another live album soon.

11. Will we see you tour?

We toured UK and Eastern Europe recently.

It’s been a good experience and it allowed us to grow up in live

performing and as a band too. Especially the shows in London,

South of England and Croatia have been amazing.

People really appreciated our music there and we hope to play in

those places again soon. When you play live gigs you always aim to

promote yourself and your work in the best way you can.

It’s the final step in promoting an album.

12. Who would you love to tour with?

I tell you the same artists that inspired me on my latest album, so Fear Factory

Machine Head, Metallica and Iron Maiden.

13.What is your favorite song of yours and why?

I really like playing ‘7 Hours Under Fire’ and ‘Perpetual War’.

These two songs represent a lot to me.

I wrote both the lyrics and the majority of the music and I think

they both hit the concept of the album.

Especially on ‘Perpetual War’ I spent more than two years just

to write the lyrics. I think it really gives the idea of the actual

situation in the Middle East area. Religion extremist and economical

interests go at the same pace and I hope I expressed well the very

difficult situation this area is living from years.

14. Why should people take the time to listen to your band over the thousands of other bands?

I think Stealth is different from other bands mainly in terms of

composition. We are all good composers and we are very careful and

meticulous during the song writing process. We don’t leave anything

to chance.

We listen to every part of each song many times before we record

and if we feel like it doesn’t work at one hundred percent than

we change it again. Also another thing that makes us different is

our sound. We started playing thrash metal during the end of the

nineties as a quartet with two guitars, bass, drum and vocal.

But we added more instruments during the following years.

Personally, I started playing with a guitar synth from the

second album ‘Check This Out!’ and started working on the background

grooves too. Also, I started adding some folk instruments in our

latest album and this made the sound really captivating and original.

15.What are your favorite music websites labels podcast etc?

I follow a lot of music sites. Particulary I like Nuclear Blast as label

and the UK based radio Hard Rock Hell

16. Is imagery important to you? Do you judge albums by the cover?

Yes I judge albums by the cover sometimes. But I prefer to listen to the music

and often what you can see on a cover album doesen't represent the band totally

17.If you could choose a cover song your band mates would hate what would it be?

Bleeding Me from Metallica

18.Is the record or live show more important?

Both of them

19. Name 3 people dead or alive you would want to play your music for.

Ludwig Van Beethoven, Freddie Mercury, James Hetfield

20. Lemmy Ozzy Dio and Rob Halford in a cage match who wins?

Lemmy! No doubt!
