CASKET ROBBERY INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band started in 2012 by its founding members.  Myself, Cory Scheider (guitars) and Dustin Foesch (vocals).  This started as a recording/studio project but quickly gained attention and we kept getting show offers even without a full band.  So we decided to call up some friends, do some shows, and the rest just happened naturally.  The band has been through some member changes over the years and has recently solidified its line up with strong touring members.  We're getting on the road and touring as much as we can now!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The name sounded cool.  There were a few names kicking around but this one fit our vibe so perfectly.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? We are out of Madison, Wisconsin.

The scene here is really cool.  There are actually a number of killer bands in this area that are starting to get some traction and attention.  Lots of great touring bands.
Are there any local bands you could recommend?  Yea, there are a ton.  Just off the top of my head, Micawber is doing some cool stuff.

4. How would you describe your style?

We call it Casket Metal. Unfortunately we had used other names for our style in the past (including groove metal, brutal metal, etc).  But we noticed people would pre-judge the music based on the genre we attached to it.  Our style doesn't fit into one genre so we ended up kicking the usual genre names and went with our own.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We've release two EPs in the early days of the band.  One single, a full length and our newest EP called "The Ascension."  You can expect an intense, in your face, style of metal.  It's unrelenting and brutal and catchy all at the same time.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yea, we have some stuff in the early writing stages.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We are hitting the road in July on the "Beer, Cheese, and Death Metal Tour" with another Wisconsin band Toxic Ruin.  Lots of Texas dates, so please check that out.  We are also doing Full Terror Assault Festival in September.  This has so many awesome bands on it!  We're very happy and thankful to be a part of it this year.  After that, catch us on tour in September!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We're going to be touring more, and working on a release for 2019!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Check us out on Spotify or anywhere that you stream music.  We can also be found on our website casketrobbery.com.  Google us if you need to, we'll pop up.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The brutal ass kicking after listening to the music.  We want to thank all the fans for the support and everyone else that has checked us out over the years.  Stay metal!
