Im Josh, Lead Guitarist for the upcoming band Dying Oath

2.Who made you want to pick up the guitar

A friend in Highschool, James H.  Dude got one and started showing me blink 182 covers and shit…thought…man I need one.  

3.Are you self taught or did you take lessons?

I taught myself for the most part but received small tips and shit from other musicians around SWVA

4. Can you read music, Can you read tab?

Tabs Yes…Music Kinda.

5.Do you feel like you have your own sound / tone ?

Its unique in its own way as a melting pot of multiple influences.  As far as tone goes, about as unique as a Mesa Dual Rectifier in Metal (haha…)

6.Tell us about your guitar ( brand ,model . year , color )

Main 6 string is a Schecter Hellraiser Extreme.  Kind of a maple burst color.  Maple Neck.

Main 7 is an LTD MH1007FR.  See Through Black with Flamed Maple.  

Love both equally.  

  

7.What about pickups? Passive or active ? Tell us about them

Usually use a Kemper 600w Powerack into 2 4x12 Mesa OS Cabinets.

Not even sure anymore.  Everytime I go to sweetwater they got something else I’d sell my soul to fucking have.

11.What guitarist can you not stand?

The guy who shows up to support with a 10k rig and cant play a fucking Pentatonic Scale

Technique is crucial to reaching the tone your looking for.
