GRINDER NEW ALBUM INTERVIEW : IGNITED

1.Thanks for taking the time to talk to The Grinder! You have a new album out, Tell us about it!

Mauricio Velasco - We released our album, Steelbound, on all streaming platforms on 11/10/19. From the writing process to the recording, it took three years. We are really very happy to be able to record and now present this material to the public.

2.Where was it recorded? Is all the material new?

 

Mauricio - Steelbound was all recorded in São Paulo at the Fusão studio and featured the production of Thiago Bianchi (Shaman, Noturnall). All songs are own compositions of Ignited. All of us in the band are lovers of classic heavy metal, with good riffs, powerful vocals, drums and bass marked, so our songs follow that form.

3.What is the biggest difference between your last release and the new one?

Mauricio - This is Ignited's first material record. However, we had stints in other bands before, me, Dalton and Denis played together for 5 years and had some studio experiences, recording demos and a full album. Samaroni also had previous passages to Ignited. But this time, we worked focused on producing something truly different, with the highest quality we could achieve.

4.Are you signed to a label? , If so which one and how did they help or support the process?

  

Mauricio - No, the whole process is being done independently. We believe in our recorded material and decide to release it by ourselves.

5.What has been going on with the band between albums? Did you tour?

Mauricio - We did our first show now, on 11/10/2019, in the city of Porto Alegre, where we played the opening of the Redemption Tour. Tour of the band Noturnall with the participation of Edu Falaschi and Mike Portnoy. There will be nine dates in Brazil, Mike's biggest tour of our country. From the launch and release of Steelbound we are looking for contacts for shows.

6.Do you have any new members?

Mauricio - No, the formation of the band is the same from the beginning. During the recording process, we spent 10 days in the studio, living daily and really got along very well.

7.Who produced the new album and how did they effect the album?

 

Mauricio - Our initial idea was to record an EP with two songs and initially work with this material. From the beginning we wanted a leading producer of the market to help us do a very high quality job. After some contacts, we met Thiago Bianchi, from the Fusão studio and realized that there was the difference we were looking for. His work is fantastic and his productions are of the highest level. Have seen the artists he worked with, among them Edu Falaschi, Aquiles Priester, Mike Orlando …

8.Some like to record naked or in the dark with candles , Did you have any strange studio practices?

Mauricio - No. Our way of recording is really simple. We go into the studio, turn on the rec and do what has to be done. Hahaha!

9.Of course tell us where to pick up your album and how to learn more about you.

  

Mauricio - We released our album on all streaming platforms on 11/01/19. At this moment we are defining the last details of our physical disk, soon it will be available for sale. Search us on our social networks and website to learn and follow Ignited's work.

10.What is your plans now that the new album is out?

Mauricio - Our plans now are to work on the dissemination of Steelbound, which the impact is already positive, we have several interviews being answered at this time. We'll do the physical media, show contacts and hit the road.
