What is your name and what do you do
for the band?
The name of our band is “SINS OF
THE DAMNED”,we took the name from a song included in the album
“master of disguise” from one of our fav 80s speed metal bands
“SAVAGE GRACE”.
Here is M.A.OT. and I play the lead
guitar,drink a lot and make a lot of noise.
Here is NOIZEMAKER and I try to play
bass guitar.
2.Tell us where you are based and
describe the scene. How do you think where you are located influences
your sound.
M.A.O.T. : Well, we are from
SANTIAGO (CHILE),there are a lot of bands and shows here and
there,big and small shows ,too much people making music,some for
passion and others for fashion,some are good the others I don’t
know …and the rest…well I prefer not to say anything about.
NOIZEMAKER: Santiago is a
very hostile place to live,behind the mask of the most “developed
country of south america” hides the cruel face of drugs,poverty and
violence,theres a lot of corruption from our politicians,justice is
here is a cruel joke and theres a lot divisions between the people.
3.Who influences your sound that
would surprise people?
M.A.O.T. : obviously our sound is
influenced by all those bands we like and enjoy like MOTORHEAD ,IRON
MAIDEN,TYRANT (GER),PILEDRIVER,the early RAZOR,SODOM and KREATOR…but
the place where we grew up influenced us too ,in the way we see the
world and what drive us to make music this kind of music,the
hardships of life,the anger and that rebellious spirit of the streets
is embodied in our music.
NOISEMAKER: well,we never think
about in how to surprise people,we make the music we love and the way
we like it, we don’t care about how to surprise to anyone,if people
enjoy our music…that’s fine..but we don’t care much about it.
4.Are you endorsed by musical
companies , if so who , and if not who would you like to
be endorsed by?
M.A.O.T. ; yes ,our first full
length will be released by SHADOW KINGDOM RECORDS, everything
is working well,it’s a good label and we feel good there.
5.When you started what was your
ultimate goal? And how close to the goal are you now?
M.A.O.T. :when we started ,our only
motivation was to play our music loud and fast,to drink and having a
good time rehearsing and recording our material,now we have many
plans and we are working on them.
6.In today's digital environment it
takes creative strategy to keep things moving. What creative ideas do
you have to keep your band relevant over time?
M.A.OT. : well,that’s a hard
question because we never think about it, we are more focused on
continuing composing and do some live shows.
7.We've all seen a terrible live
band that is awesome on CD. Is that cool with you or do you lose
respect for bands that cannot pull it off live?
M.A.O.T. : well ive seen a lot of
bands performing live that sounds incredible on physical format,but I
respect the attitude of some of those bands.
NOISEMAKER : ive seen some bands
performing technical and intrincated music whose live shows are
terribly boring,I think it’s a complicated theme.
8.Tell us your “core” are you
Metal , Rock , Punk , Pop etc because people just have to categorize
these days you know?
M.A.O.T. : i hear too much
music,many styles and personally Im always searching some new
material,new bands or something that can I can enjoy ,I hear
soundtracks from italian horror movies from the 70s too,I don’t
know…I only hear music that I can enjoy and I don’t care much
about people who categorize music,that’s an old thing.
NOIZEMAKER : mmm…I don’t know
why people try to categorize music,I like to hear country music from
30s and that’s doesnt make me a hillbilly…60s garage bands are
called proto punk nowadays ,maybe the punk labels just want to
increase their catalogs….who cares? Fuck the people!!.
9.This is a tough question but a
very real reality, Is your band actually talented or just popular?
Many bands make it with a cliche or
publicity stunts etc. Would you accept fame even if it was just
because of being the “ in” thing or is it actually important to
you that you gain favor with talent?
M.A.O.T.: we only make our music in
flavor of our own enjoyment, and personally I think popularity is for
pretentious people,there are too many bands trying to be famous using
“marketing strategies”,and if our band becomes popular…that’s
good,great but we don’t care about it ,we started to play this
music only to satisfy ourselves,the rest…its only destiny.
10.Tell us what to expect from you
live. Nothing is more boring than watching bands stare at the floor
and bob their heads to music nobody but the band knows. What can your
band offer in a live setting that people will remember?
M.A.O.T. : we got the speed and the
rage,obscure and fast raw music and well give it all to the crowd.
11. What releases have you put out ,
When will we see something new?
M.A.O.T. :well, shadow kingdom its
about to release our first full length,its called “strinking the
bell of death”,and we are working on new songs…we planning to do
another SINS OF THE DAMNED album,also with noizemaker we are still
working in the first album for CRIME,it will be named “second
crime”.

NOIZEMAKER : on youtube theres some
videos from SINS OF THE DAMNED rehearsing with me on drums circa
september 2013 ha ha ha.

Why do you think this is so
important? Doesn't it seem like everyone is giving everything out for
free?
M.A.O.T. : well, we don’t think
its important,but it helps when people from remote places wants to
know about your band and music.
14.Best moment of your career so
far?
M.A.O.T. : everytime we play and
drink or record something,I really enjoy what I do.
15.Your message to the fans?
M.A.O.T. : live fast,die old! buy or
steal “striking the bell of death”,and play it loud ,it will
you’re your heads off mutherfuckers!
NOISEMAKER : drink and fuck all you
can,play fast music and remember that life is short.
