STRICKEN THE GRINDER INTERVIEW

1.Tell us in a few words why you think people should listen to you over the thousands of bands out there. We mix elements that previously were kept very separate in the metal world. Introspective lyrics, soaring guitars and complex bass and drums mix to create music that touches the best elements of the past 30 years of metal, while still having a meaningful message.

2. Name 3 bands you think your music is comparable to
Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria and My Chemical Romance

3.Tell us about your latest release, how do you describe it and where can we purchase it?
This is our first EP, the songs are about desperation, heartbreak, and the pressures of living in an indifferent world. We released mostly on a whim, to make sure people would react to the creative vision we were constructing. It ended up being more successful then we could have guessed, reaching number 1 on the Amazon music unlimited charts for new metal and hard rock albums. You can stream it on whatever platform you use, like apple music, Spotify and Amazon music unlimited. Ask Alexa "Alexa, play the album Black Sunrise by Stricken" You can also purchase the full EP on Amazon or iTunes.

4.Do you have any video’s and where can we see them? Do you think video’s are important any longer? We do not have any videos at this time.

5. As a PR agent I am going to tell you forthright, It is expensive to make it in the music industry and it is unfair because a lot of great talent gets left behind. How far are you willing to go? How much are you willing to lose to climb this mountain?
We worked with a Grammy nominated producer, Mike Ferreti on these songs. We will go far.

6.At one time you could believe that your music was enough , Your live show was enough. Now that you know the reality of the music business what would YOU change to make it more fair to the artist? It is fair, it just takes hard work and great music that stands out.

7.Youve spent tons of money on gear , spent thousands of hours rehearsing and putting everything into your dream. What level of success will you consider “ making it”?
We want to change the world with our music.

8. Have you been on the road? Would you like to tour? And with who? We have not, and we are focusing on getting the complete album finished before touring. After that we will see.

9.You get 5 members build your dream band and go.
Us plus one more dedicated player.

10.Who would you not throw under the bus for fame?
No one, music making is a community, not a competition, there are 7 billion people in the world. The top selling hard rock album, appetite for destruction has sold 30 million copies, that mean there are six billion nine hundred seventy million people who don't have the most popular heavy album of all time. There's plenty of room for every band.

11.Do you know about the business side of music? Do you think the business side or the entertainment side is more important? Our bassist majored in music buisness with a minor in accounting, we know the buisness side. But if your music is good enough you'll be famous (possibly poor but famous)
12.What is it about your live show that will make a person remember you?
We're Young energetic guys who love the crowd and speak directly to them, we coordinate our movement on stage but at the same time we make sure to leave room to be genuine and spontaneous with the crowd.

13.Your girlfriend , Your family , Your friends are all going to lie to you and tell you that you are awesome, its just how the game works. So who do you trust to tell you the truth?
We all trust each other to be real with each other. Also my mom is bluntly honest and has called me ugly in the past so I'm sure if we sucked she'd be the first to say so.

14.What constitutes kicking a member out of a band?
A democratic vote is necessary, but it can be undertaken for any good reason.

15.How do you feel about political beliefs inside the band? What if one of your members wanted to wear a pro trump shirt live?
We all have different political philosophies that we keep to ourselves.

16. There are a number of bands and artist out there who are gay or lgbt,
Would you support one of your members changing gender?
Not all of our members conform to traditional gender roles.

17.Many people consider metal music and metal fans to be racist
Share your opinions, including would you allow racism in your band if the member was talented enough? We would never condone racist of any kind, and absolutely would not allow a racist individual to be Associated with the band in anyway.

18.I am pushing boundres for a reason, rock n roll is rebellion sex and drugs but things have changed will you stay true to yourself even if it means leaving the band and giving up your dreams? We all respect each other enough as musicians to let one another live very different lives while still working together. We are all already our self actualized selves

19.Lets lighten up, If you could get on stage with any band who would it be? Metallica

20.I want you to say something you know will be controversial that you are willing to stand up for. People complain about the scene dieing and how less people are listening to metal, but those same people make the metal seem as unappealing as possible by being elitist and competitive. They wonder why metal isn't popular and then turn around and say that any band even remotely successful is "not real metal"

This is high impact for radio / press now!! request for interviews can be set up by emailing metalcoffefpr@gmail.com as well as request for music or any other info you need.
