What is your name and what do you do for the band?
Living Undead Zombies, originally the idea was to have a band name that sounded like an old horror movie title, and right zombie themed songs. Eventually it evoled into a metaphor for the American populace.
Nocona: My name is Nocona and I play guitar and do lead vocals.
Mason: My name is Mason and I play bass in the band.
Michael: My names Michael and I play drums and contribute to riff writing occasionally. I founded the band with nocona so almost everything gets filtered through my opinion. (Lars answer)
2.Tell us where you are based and describe the scene. How do you think where you are located influences your sound.
We are based in Tahlequah, OK. No metal scene here we have to travel over an hour to play in an actual venue. Mostly red dirt, blues, and country around here.
Michael: Well unfortunately the music scene isn’t the best where we’re from so there not too many influences unless you want to play country. I’d say most of our influence comes from wanting to sound different than anything else around.
Mason: With very few metal or punk bands around here you just gotta make your own sound and make yourself standout if you're not playing country, and I think that’s a influence we have.
Nocona: I have to agree with Michael and Mason, we knew we loved metal and even though we wouldn't able to play locally we'd eventually find somewhere that has a metal scene. Hence why we travel to play.
3.Who influences your sound that would surprise people?
Michael: As far as surprising people I would say Entombed. Not many people know who they are but solid riff writing is something I think they have always brought to the table and I feel we try do the same.
Nocona: I don't know if direct sound influences would surprised anyone. We love Slayer, Entombed, Dying Fetus, Obituary and many more. But structurally we tend to have a pop structure, not musically obviously but we have verses, choruses, and bridges sometimes. I think we're catchy and that can stick with anyone. So radio music has kinda had an indirect influence in that way.
Mason: Sepultura their old stuff Is just straight classic death/thrash and I think that classic death metal sound is something we go for when we play.
4.Are you endorsed by musical companies , if so who , and if not who would you like to be endorsed by? No
Nocona: If I was endorsed by LTD and Peavey I'd be set.
Michael: If I could be endorsed I would choose Zildjian cymbals, Evans heads, and Pearl everything else.
Mason: I had to choose I would choose fender bass and orange for my amps.
5.When you started what was your ultimate goal? And how close to the goal are you now?
Michael: I was young I didn’t have goals success wise, but I have so much fun playing drums and enjoy the aspect of improving. I can’t have much more fun playing live than I do now but I want to get a lot better as a drummer.
Mason: Just to play music and have fun and every time we play I love it so I’m positive that goals been met.
Nocona: Play music and have fun, like Mason said we're doing that. From here if we can do this for a living that'd be great too. I'm sure we can all agree on that.
6.In today's digital environment it takes creative strategy to keep things moving. What creative ideas do you have to keep your band relevant over time?
Keep you social media busy. New age fans want constant engagement. Another thing we decided to do was instead of releasing a full length every other year or so, release singles or eps more often.
7.We've all seen a terrible live band that is awesome on CD. Is that cool with you or do you lose respect for bands that cannot pull it off live?
I think we can all agree we'd rather see a great band live and shitty on CD than the other way around.
8.Tell us your “core” are you Metal , Rock , Punk , Pop etc because people just have to categorize these days you know?
This band is definitely death metal at the core. We have a bit of punk influence too though.
9.This is a tough question but a very real reality, Is your band actually talented or just popular?
Many bands make it with a cliche or publicity stunts etc. Would you accept fame even if it was just because of being the “ in” thing or is it actually important to you that you gain favor with talent?
We don't do any publicity stunts or have any type of gimmick. We have some zombie related songs but we aren't wearing make up or anything and some songs aren't about zombies at all. I think we have really catchy music and put on a great show.
10.Tell us what to expect from you live. Nothing is more boring than watching bands stare at the floor and bob their heads to music nobody but the band knows. What can your band offer in a live setting that people will remember?
100% we give it our all, and we try to engage with the audience to ensure they're having a great time. You can tell by watching us play that we love doing what we do, and that tends to encourage the crowd.
11. What releases have you put out , When will we see something new?
We released a full length in late 2012, and an EP earlier this year. We should have another EP by mid to late summer.

Why do you think this is so important? Doesn't it seem like everyone is giving everything out for free?
Free music is so easy to come by that you have to do what you have to do. Any more we use our recorded music for promotion. If fans like it they'll come to shows and support the band.
14.Best moment of your career so far?
Anytime we get people to enjoy us when they aren't metal fans is great. We've done that a few times surprisingly.
