1.Tell us your name and the band you play for?

My name is Pat Rogers and I play guitar for Phear

2.Who made you want to pick up the guitar?

No one in particular really, apart from my Dad of course. He always had a guitar lying around so I just kind of naturally gravitated towards it. The influences came later.

3.Are you self taught or did you take lessons?

I took lessons for the first 5 years, then I taught myself from there

4. Can you read music, Can you read tab?

Tablature yes. Theory, sadly not hahaha!

5.Do you feel like you have your own sound / tone ?

Every player does

6.Tell us about your guitar ( brand ,model . year , color ) ?

My guitar is a custom 2019 seven string made in Canada by Meinzinger Guitars. Appropriately named “Godzilla”!

7.What about pickups?

Passive or active ? Tell us about them
Passive all the way!! Love those DiMarzio pickups!

8.Lets get into amplification, Same drill brand , model , speakers etc?

My live and studio setup consists of an EVH 5150iii 50 watt head running into a Marshall 1960a slant cab with Celestion G-12t 75 speakers.

9.Do you have a pedal board? Tell us about that badboy!?

Oh I do haha! My signal chain starts with a TC Electronic Polytune 3 running into a Morley Bad Horsey 2 wah pedal, a Rick & Morty Overdrive by Airis Effects, a Micro chorus, micro flanger, and Smart Gate by MXR. All of the pedals are powered by an SKB pedalboard with a built-in power conditioner.

10..Now tell us your Dream Rig in detail…..Dream rig....

I’m pretty much playing it hahaha! But another amp I’d love to own is a classic Fender Twin Reverb or an Orange amp.

11.What guitarist can you not stand?

Don’t tell anyone, but I can’t stand that Graham Stirrett guy .. Such a pompous dickhead!

12. Is tone more important or is technique?

I’d say they’re both equally important in their own right

13. Name your top 5 guitarists?

In nor particular order … Dimbag Darrell, Steve Vai, SRV, Duane Allman and Marty Friedman

14.Who is the most overrated guitarist?

Going to have to go with Graham Stirrett once again … think’s he’s so big!

15.Who would you like a one hour private sit down lessons with anyone dead or alive?

Living: Steve Vai …. Dead: Frank Zappa
