Band was formed in 1965 by me(Michael Rummans) and Jeff Briskin. We were friends, attending Beverly Hills High School. We recruited three other students-Hank Daniels, Sam Kamrass and Steve Dibner. and began playing shows at Pandora's Box & other clubs on the Sunset Strip. We recorded a 45 for Impression Records which released our first original song, “Makin” Love”. At the end of '66, I left the band and joined the Yellow Payges. Hank moved to New York, but Jeff continued with a new singer, Tommy McLoughlin, calling the new band the May Wines.
In 2011, Jeff reunited with Tommy and me to form the nucleus of the current Sloths. Over the last few years, members have come and gone, but the current nucleus consists of myself, Tommy and drummer Ray Herron.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
When I was in 10th grade history class, I saw the word, “sloth” used in a 19th century political cartoon and got the idea from that.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there?
Hollywood, California! There are so many venues in Los Angeles, it's sometimes difficult to make up one's mind who to go out & hear.
Are there any local bands you could recommend?
I would have to go with some of our Burger Records bandmates, such as Billy Changer, Mystic Braves. The Death Valley Girls are also from LA.
4. How would you describe your style?
Very much like the early Stones; rock and roll combined with power pop.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Other than the original 45 single, released in 1965, we have an album out on Burger Records(all formats) a split single with the Dwarves on Outro Records and all is available together on a European CD released by Eternal Sound Records.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes, another single, “Follow Me”, soon to be released on an upcoming Burger Records compilation. We're also looking forward to our second album, date TBA.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Hoping for a European Tour, later this year.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Second album, second music video, more festival shows and touring.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
That we're doing something unique, different, out of the mainstream and with good songs!
