The Less fortunate started In early 2016 with core members Logan Kelly, Bill Cotrill, Jesse Ikenberry later adding Vocalist Cory Taunton and second guitar player Dalton Golden the foundation of the band was built. Also Adding Blanca Molinero as Lead clean singer and vocals the band starting hitting the road all over the four states area. Playing many shows threw out 2016 into 2017. With the Departure of
Jesse Ikenberry in November of 2017 the band continued to move forward playing shows and writing new material! At the beginning of 2018 Nolan Smith joined the band as the second guitar player! Since then the band has continued getting out across the 4 state area!
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band name was based on the idea of being able to relate to people in times of dispare! In many way a lot of us are Less Fortunate but having the strength the pull threw rough times! This is the origin of The Less Fortunate band!
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We hail from Joplin Missouri. The music scene is not the biggest as there are not many places to play. The Blackthorn is Joplin is are home base. The owner has shown much kindness and many other bands. The are a lot of great locals out of Joplin GraveHuffer The Order of Elijah. TideBreaker are a few great bands out of Joplin!
4. How would you describe your style?
The bands describes it style as Metal and Metal Core! We draw influences from many bands as individuals! Metal sums just about some it's up!
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
So far the band has released 2 tracks titled We Will Rise and Ocluas. We plan to grow and reach out to people in Hope's of making new fans a long the way. People can expect that we have put our hearts into the music we write!
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Currently we are in the process of getting our first album underway with music videos and much more to come!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
This summer we have many shows coming up around the 4 state area a few festivals later this year that we are very much looking forward to! Bands Against Bullying is happening June 9th one example of our upcoming events!
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Our plan for the band is getting an Album released by next year having all of our songs available on the internet. Music videos and Playing many more shows.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Things I would like a listener to remember when hearing our music is that We are trying to connect with people on personal levels. We don't do this as competition. We love what we do as Musicans we want people to be able to relate to our music in many ways. In hope that our music could influence peoples lifes in positive ways!
