1.Thanks for taking the time to talk to The Metal Times! You have a new album out, Tell us about it!
It’s a 4 song EP called “Between Everything
Else.” Our song “Threw it All Away” is
playing on local LA radio and was featured on the Heidi and Frank show, “Stay
or Go” on 95.5 KLOS.
2.Where was it recorded? Is all the material
new?
It’s all new material. We have been releasing EPs that past few
years so that we can get new music out as frequently as we can. It was recorded at Ninefinger HQ in North Hollywood,
CA as well as D Squared Studios in Winnetka.
3.What is the biggest difference between your
last release and the new one?
I feel like we stayed true to our Ninefinger sound but challenged ourselves
with new melodies, sounds and tempos.
4.Are you signed to a label? , If so which one
and how did they help or support the process?
We have our own label called 656 Records.
We found that it was easier and less red tape. That being said, if
Capital, Sony etc want in, come on down.
5.What has been
going on with the band between albums? Did you tour?
We have a bunch of stuff lined up. We
are waiting for the pandemic to end so we can get to it. We are scheduled to play the Bring Back the
Rock Festival in South Africa as well as other shows in and around South
Africa. We also have shows lined up in
the UK. Things are in the works but on
hold until the pandemic is over. So we
are just writing a bunch of new material and recording.
6.Do you have any new members?
Not really.
The three core members are always there and then we use different bass
players for shows and tours.
7.Who produced the new album and how did they
effect the album?
Our producer is DD Erhlich. He has
worked with Slipknot and Metallica. We
call him the fifth member of Ninefinger.
He is an amazing musician in his own right. He just gets our songs and our sound. He always has great input to make the songs
bigger and better. He also challenges us
and our performances and isn’t afraid to check you to get a better sound, take,
etc
8.Some like to record naked or in the dark
with candles , Did you have any strange studio practices?
Caffeine and candy. We like to have fun and don’t take ourselves
too serious so the mood is lighter and we like to joke. When it is time to lay it down though, its
TIME! Maybe we should try the naked
thing too. I will talk to the guys.
9.Of course tell us where to pick up your
album and how to learn more about you.
It is on all digital platforms out there. Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, etc. You can even get an actualy CD if that is
your thing. We are working on doing some
album releases too. Record sales are
booming and are cool for your fans.
10.What is your plans now that the new album
is out?
Wait out this pandemic and gear up to play
LIVE.
