1000 Dead interview
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
1000Dead started 5 years ago by Nick Marinakis (guitars/vocals), Petros Leledakis (bass/ back vocals) and Alekos Mouratidis (Drums). In 2014 the band released a Promo cd (Promo 2014) and 3 years later via Metal Scrap our debut album came out. Since then, unfortunately we haven’t done a lot of gigs to promote our record ‘cause we’re in search of a drummer and the location of the band’s base (The island of Crete), doesn’t make things easier, but we stay positive!
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Nick came up with it. Something intriguing in the eye and also a bit vague in terms of how a band would sound like with that name. Plus it sounds cool!
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
As mentioned before, the band’s based in Crete. There aren’t so many bands to consist a music scene, but yeap, there are a couple of bands worth checkin’ out. Imperium infernalis, Cosmic Plunge, Obzerv, Pure Violent Hedonism among others.
4. How would you describe your style?
A mix of HxC, Thrash, Heavy Rock, Grind, Punk! So instead of all that, we simply say just “metal”!
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Officially, the debut album that came out last year and an unofficial release, the sold out 3-song promo which it was financed by the band. Expect some fast drumming, groovy bass lines, lots of riffs and of course aggressive vocals!
Although we lack of a drummer, the music for the 2nd album it’s almost done and it will be a killer!
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We’re in talks with some people right now that maybe can help out as session drummers so we can start promoting the album live. We’ll see how that goes. Of course, our goal is a drummer to join the band as an official member!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out? not answered
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
A steady line up and the release of a second album.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Οn Spotify, at bandcamp (1000dead.bandcamp.com) and for merch just send directly to the band’s fb page (facebook.com/1000Dead/). And there’s also our YouTube channel. Let’s not forget that you can contact our label, Metal Scrap for a copy.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
How suitably we combine different genres of music and also, pay attention to the lyrics. Nobody does that anymore. Thanks again for this interview. Cheers!
