THE METAL TIMES :Horror Dance Squad releases new single and announces album release date

Fresh on the heels of their heaviest track to date, Cancer, the new song Callous Cage truly encapsulates their versatility in adventuring through the many different nooks and crannies of their genre.

Not only is this a Horror Dance Squad song without screaming, but the lyrics of Callous Cage also explore a theme not common in the band’s repertoire. “I don’t often write what I consider to be “love songs”,” admits vocalist Ian Karell, “but there were events in my life that inspired me to write about something more personal. Specifically, this song is about learning how to put your ego aside to allow yourself to grow and connect more deeply with the one you love. The “cage” is what we put ourselves in when we are too prideful to step back, put down our defences and try to truly understand our own needs and the needs of our partner. The cage is what holds us back from finding or developing real love.”

And for those who have been anticipating a bigger announcement from the band, the wait is over: Horror Dance Squad’s first full-length album, No Flag Will Fly Forever, is set for release on September 25th.

“We have been working on this album for over two years and we simply cannot express how truly excited we are,” vocalist Karl Mesipuu affirms. “It's been a long journey writing. The work process has made us all take another step as people and musicians and I think that is the main reason to be so proud of this record. We have a solid team - countless hours in the studio recording with our co-producer Sander Sadam has shown all of us why we love doing this together. All the themes in the lyrics and the melodies mirror everything we went through during recording as well as inspired by the latest events in our lives. There also was a lot of improvisation & experimentation behind the mic and that's what made the whole process so fun.”

Recorded in Tallinn, Estonia and mixed and mastered in Los Angeles by Cody Stewart (The Browning), No Flag Will Fly Forever is the band’s most anticipated work to date.

“It is a very good feeling to still want to listen to the album over and over even after hearing it countless times during the whole process. I feel that involving Cody Stewart really pushed us to polish the end result into something to be proud of for many years to come!” says drummer Henri Kuusk.

Horror Dance Squad has also begun a campaign on Hooandja, the Estonian based crowdfunding platform, in order to support the release of their album. Their primary goal is to rais enough to print 100 Limited Edition copies of No Flag Will Fly Forever on vinyl.
