NEW ALBUM INTERVIEW : SEDULOUS ROUSE

1.Thanks for taking the time to talk to The Grinder!

You have a new album out, Tell us about it!
Our latest album was released in Dec 2016, THE VALLEY BEYOND. This was a great step up for us in songwriting and togetherness as a band. It is over 50 mins of heavy metal of varying styles but all with the signature Sedulous Rouse take on things. We have  just in October this year 2019 released our latest single Ontogenesis of Violence, which is our first release with drummer and vocalist Paul Murphy (The Dragonfly).

2.Where was it recorded? Is all the material new?

We recorded The Valley Beyond with Andy Kite at Against the Grain studio, and all the material was new at the time. For our latest single we have recorded with Jarred Nettle and House of SAP Studio. The new material is all being written by the three members.

3.What is the biggest difference between your last release and the new one?

Songwriting and technical ability of the players, we have all steeped our game and play as a band much better now.

4.Are you signed to a label? , If so which one and how did they help or support the process?

No we are not, it was fully funded by ourselves and playing live gigs!

5.What has been going on with the band between albums? Did you tour?

We did quite a lot of regional shows in country Australia and have focused on amassing new material for our next release.

6.Do you have any new members?

Paul Murphy joined on drums in late March 2018 replacing original drummer Dani Lorriaux

7.Who produced the new album and how did they effect the album?

We produced the album ourselves so we think it turned out great! hehehhee

8.Some like to record naked or in the dark with candles , Did you have any strange studio practices?

Mostly we like to have a lot of jokes and but nothing overly strange which is probably for the best!

9.Of course tell us where to pick up your album and how to learn more about you.

All our releases are available off our bandcamp site www.sedulousrouse.bandcamp.com

10.What is your plans now that the new album is out?

We have been very selective with the shows that we have been doing this past year because we have been working very hard on the new material for the third album so after initially doing a lot of interviews and playing some cool shows we backed off to write and practice, practice, practice the new stuff!
