Pagan Interface (or pi/0 for short) is an electronic music artist hailing from Munich, Germany.
Producing and executing the music all by himself, pi/0 employs
hip hop and electronic tactics to fuse his influences together, these
range from cyberpunk science fiction, post punk/new wave to 90’s trip
hop.
Hefty
use of an analog signal path, distortion and ambiance lead to a result
which the artist refers to as “neuromantic chillwave for the post
apocalypse”. Contrary to many electronic artists releasing music at this
time, his music is not solely aimed at the dance floor or the chill-out
spot. Feeling more organic and less bound to specific genre
conventions, the music is able to serve as a soundtrack to an as yet to
be filmed dystopian opera.
Mangling
and corrupting an eclectic range of styles, sounds and genres, his
musical output is sitting comfortably somewhere between Throbbing
Gristle, Massive Attack and My Chemical Romance, as well as contemporary
beat artists like Flying Lotus.
