PARAZIT...... THE INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the about the band and its members.

Parazit is an instrumental trio from Guadalajara, Mexico that combines power, subtlety and skill in a balanced form which grabs you from the first notes. Their music comes from the heart: groove and energy that enthrall constant dialogue and textures between guitar, bass and drums.
Kello Gonzalez on bass, Jose Macario on guitar and Christian Gomez on drums.

2. Who does the majority of the writing? Is it a group thing or does someone handle the writing duties?

We explore and approach writing in as many ways as possible. From jamming in the rehearsal room, to getting beats from the drummer and adding music, Jose or Kello writing a complete song or just guitar or bass lines for the rest to complete. We do that mainly to achieve variety in song structures and motifs. When you stick to one way of doing things you inevitably start repeating yourself.

3. Where is the band based out of ? Where did you want to the band to end up? What was the dream city to have as your home base once you got out of your scene?

We're based out of Guadalajara, Mexico. We started here almost 9 years ago. The scene is pretty healthy here, a lot of bands, events, genres and music is produced in the city. Mexico City is close by, as well as some of the big cities in Mexico. In some ways Mexico is still somewhat centralized, but overall Guadalajara is a good city to be based on.

4. What is your genre? What bands do you use to explain  to people what you sound like?

We try not to give a name to our genre, other than Instrumental. Once to label your music you end up filtering styles and sounds that don't fit that label. We want to welcome everything into our music, so we avoid those limitations.

 5. Can we buy anything from you Cd's shirts etc and where can we buy them?

Yes, we have several T-shirt models available as well as all our albums in CD format.
These can be ordered directly with us on our facebook page or bandcamp (parazitmx.bandcamp.com).
All albums are also available on al digital streaming services.

6. Do you have studio time lined up anything new coming soon?

We're actually about to release our 4th album "Aural Coincidence" on November 4th. We're planning a live session in the near future that will be available for download as well.

7. Have you ever been on tour? If so where and with who?

Yes we have. We've toured Mexico extensively over the last 4 years. We did a one month European tour in the summer of 2017 alogn Here Comes The Kraken. We're planning dates to promote our new album for next year, including international dates.

No need to be 18. Our main page is facebook.com/parazitmx

10. What about your music do you want people to remember? What is the quality you want to hit people when they hit play?

Let the music take you places, find a new sound every time you hit play and create the story and scenery it takes you to in your mind. Enjoy that moment.
