Netherhall interview

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We are currently a 3 piece Instrumental alternative progressive Metal band from Birmingham. Originally forming as a 4 piece in 2015, we have continued as a 3 piece since November 2017. We are actively looking for a new member however to add to what we have already crafted.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Netherhall stems from a estate situated in Great Barr where us guys used to go round looking for ghosts aha. Before it become a housing estate, the area was home to St Margrets Mental Hospital.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are
there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based in Birmingham. The scene in and around Birmingham is a thriving one with tons of excellent local bands. We are very lucky and honoured to be a part of it. A couple we recommend (just to name a few) are: Pelugion, Cenfora, Trivax & SID.

4. How would you describe your style?

Heavy and atmospheric. Our style weaves heavy, crushing riffs with atmospheric overtones to draw you in and keep you there.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your
works?

We released our debut EP 'Imacular' in May 2017 when we were still a 4 piece. Imacular contained some of our earliest material which led to the EP being very diverse in tone.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We do! We have been writing & performing new material over the last year, perfecting it to a point we are happy with it. We are delighted to say a release is coming soon!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have plenty of shows coming up. One of our personal highlights being our support slot for The Contortionist coming up at The Asylum 2, Monday 9th July.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We have plenty of material that we want to record and put out there however, bringing in a new member is one of our top priorities and thus will influence our plans going forward.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to our recorded material on all good streaming sites and stores, including itunes, Bandcamp & Spotify. For live footage which includes new material, our facebook page and youtube page contain the official footage from our time at Bloodstock 2017.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The emotion of the music and how it makes you feel as an individual. We pour our whole into our music and live performance and we aim to deliver the same experience to our fans.
