AUTHORS PICK! Roses Unread

*A note from Wes J , Over the years I have played a lot of bands and a very few of them I follow to this day because they stand out. Most of the interviews on this page are bands on Metal Coffee PR or bands other PR companies are covering. Roses Unread I am putting here because I DIG THEM!!
Thanks to the band for the interview.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Roses Unread formed in 2007, with various member changes up until 2016. The current members are: Allison Purifoy (vocals), John Purifoy (guitars), Jed Hood (bass), and Caleb Lancaster (drums). Allison and John are the core founders of the band since the start, and Jed and Caleb entered around 2016. The band shares a love for raw, real music, no sugar coating or cookie cutting. They describe their music as space-pop-metal.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band's name is almost a metaphor in itself. Picture a rose blooming...it takes time, and worth the wait. Think of an unread book, it also takes time and is worth the wait. Some people are patient and others expect things too quick, they won't give things a chance. We hope with our music can provide a peep hole of light in a dark tunnel of doubt. Stay on the path and don't stray off, be patient, give things a chance.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Allison and John live in TN and Jed and Caleb live in Mississippi. So we always say we are from "Tennessippi" when we are on stage. The scene is pretty good, but sometimes can get oversaturated. Some good bands we recommend are: Insect to Monarch, Seeking Seven, Jupiter Stone, The Skeleton Krew, You The Few, 5 Stories, and the list goes on...(if you like this list I can always give more)

4. How would you describe your style?

 Space-pop-metal

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We are working on our 6th release. You can find our previous albums/EPS on itunes and you can see our music videos on YouTube. Expect an emotional rollercoaster...

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are currently writing in our home studio as we speak.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We are focused on the writing right now, but have two really cool Memphis shows coming up in the next month.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Write music, play shows, and world domination.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

 YouTube, Itunes, our website (rosesunreadofficial.com)

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Remember earlier when I said give things a change....refer to interview questions 2. :)
