CROSSING ETERNITY INTEVIEW / ARTICLE

 1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Providence brought us together. There was time for us, after a life in music, to reach the peak of our shape and creativity with a good combination, a band with common values and interplay, to bring some new good music to the world. I know Manu for a long time, he met Uffe in Sweden, then came Johann and there we go, time to hit the road.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

It is the title of the first song we recorded together, a very proper definition of our goal to leave something lasting behind, in the world that we want to live in. Crossing Eternity is a transcendent thought.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band recorded the album in Bucharest, but our intention is to reach a more balanced and organized market, with a higher level of reach to the audience. We love the real life and deeply trust in the power of our music, that’s why we don’t see any borders. Our home is where a stage is.

4. How would you describe your style?

It’s powerful metal, rooted in the ‘70s and opened to the west European symphonic, song oriented heaviness. The name of our style is Crossing Eternity, but the press often associates us with Symphonic Power Metal.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Our album “The Rising World” is out worldwide on the 15-th of June and we’re coming with some good songs, heavy riffs and enough hooks to make you want to see us again. We will make people jump, sing and wonder in the same time, because behind a good song there is always a good story.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Of course, there are always ideas for new material and we know pretty clear what the next album will bring. The idea of continuity is keeping the ideas together and when the time will come, we’ll happily start working again, to deliver some new magic.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

That’s the best we can do, so we are always eager to go on tour. The talks about "The Rising World" European tour are pretty advanced and we will bring you the news as soon as everything is settled. We’ll definitely share the stage with a prominent name. Our next show will be on the 16-th of august, opening for Kamelot.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We’re a bunch of experienced musicians with great memories and greater plans, so what we want is to roll this story till the end. There is no such thing as retiring.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

There is also our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CrossingEternity/ and our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/CrossingEternityOfficialTV with the two videos that we already made from the album. 10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

An honest band in a pretty messed up world, bringing you the joy, wonder and hope through some good quality song. The cover is also a piece of art, because everything we do is destined to cross eternity. We are immortals, you know… have posted a new new music video "Ghost Of A Storm" in support of their forthcoming new album “The Rising World” set for its worldwide debut on June 15, 2018 via Rockshots Records.

"The Rising World" blends elements of modern metal with psychedelic soundscapes alluding to the innocence of the 70s' rock music. The album contains thirteen epic songs, widely varied in composition and arrangement. The lyrics are a natural extension of this musical experience and they are tales of a spiritual journey. At times they talk about the invisible side of the world, other times they speak of fairy tale magic characters. Human nature and the causal dynamic of human interactions are also among the approached topics.

In regards to recording of the album, singer Berti Barbera says:

“Recording this album was the most challenging vocal experience of my life. It brought back the times me and Manu were playing in a rock band, with all the jokes and high energy. The serious effort made me use a lot of techniques and ways of expression I thought I lost or never use again. This is a great achievement and definitely our best work together in a time I stopped believing in magic. There is something cosmos related in this, it must be. I can’t wait to be on stage with these guys.”

Manu Savu (Guitar/ Bass/ Keyboards) also reflects on the album:

"I wrote the music for this album as an introspective journey, like a confession, a deep soul search, a backward connection, a connection with the almost unseen world of metaphors and symbols, an essential part of our existence. It's an act of honesty, a musical statement about what we can and cannot see, a story between the tangible and the magical world.”

The adventure of CROSSING ETERNITY started in the summer of 2017, when guitarist/composer Manu Savu entered the studio with a head full of great song ideas alongside fellow Romanian Berti Barbera, the band’s singer and Swedish Uffe Tillman taking on drum duties. Although the band is brand new, the three passionate, experienced musicians bring 25-30 years of experience across all genres with them. This mix of experience and wide variety of musical influences allows them to create a sound they describe as big, organic, personal, vibrant and honest.

Enjoying the privilege of sharing the stage with big names like Uriah Heep, Ten Years After, Scorpions, Larry Coryell, Blood, Sweat and Tears, the band’s main priority is to expand their boundaries and play worldwide, finding opportunities to make their music known and appreciated in as many countries as possible.
