Review Band: Half Ton Hammer

Band Review #4
Band: Half Ton Hammer
Tracks: Surveillance

Half Ton Hammer, a 4 piece American Heavy metal outfit out of Southwest Florida, comprised of members: JB (lead and vocals), Dave (bass), Danny (drums), and Joe (rhythm & vocals). Right out of the gate you can hear influences from heavy metal legends Slayer and Lamb of God. Surveillance fits the bill of being the lovechild of a track belonging on a cross over album of Slayers "god hates us all" and Lamb of God's "Sacrament". Just good melodic heavy metal, with sinister shreds from JB, and a lethal percussion attack coming from the throne of Danny, while Dave and Joe hold down the groove that really carries the weight of the track and makes for one hell of a song to Jam to with some bass boosted stereo equipment (which is an absolute must for this track, highly recommend). The vocals deserve special attention here as it sounds like a perfect blend of the vocal prowess of both Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed/kingdom of sorrow) and Randy Blythe (Lamb of god), so if you're reading this and haven't listened to HTH yet, you're in for a serious treat. These guys give off a very sinister vibe with an incredibly heavy sound, and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new EP titled "No gods left to kill" due this winter of 2020 !
