THE METAL TIMES : INTERVIEW / OF THE FALLEN

1.Introduce yourself and your band and tell us why we should listen to you.

Hey! We are Of The Fallen! If you like heavy riffs, breakdowns, melodic leads, and just in your face music, you should just jam us!!!

2.What do you classify your sound as, Who do you tell people you sound like? would say Melodic death metal/death core

3.With digital music in today's world would you vote to keep or eliminate physical media? I'm all for it, we Ll have physicals still,  and collect them.

4.What is the reason you decided to be a musician and has that reason paid off? mainly because we love the music we play, and love creating.

5.How do you feel about females in metal getting special attention? Do you feel it is fair? I'd say go them! Most woman are looked down upon, and are not taken seriously in the industry. Band also shouldn't be known for just having a female in the band , hey should be known for the music itself and that woman are not just there to look at.

6.In the world climate with hatred being at an all time high and metal being an “ angry” music

Do you think your music contributes to anger and hatred?  I feel it contributes, but for the opposite reason.  Metal in seen as an outlet for many, including us. And that's what we strive for

7.Are you opposed to religious beliefs or politics being used in music?

not necessarily, its in music if we like it or not. They are definitely 2 huge things apart of our society and world.

8.We have dive into some pretty deep issues here do you think your music sends a message and if so what is it?

The message we want is for the music to just be enjoyed and you feel what you feel for our music.

9.The market has changed and many bands believe that record labels are a thing of the past, with many labels now charging bands to “sign” how do you think a band can make it in todays scene?

Alot of it will come from DIY. If the band can do majority on their own they can most likely "make"it . Record labels are still in need because of the backing, the reach, and know how.

10.Why with the thousands of options including netflix , sporting events everything on demand

Why do you think people should take the time to listen to what you have to say in your music?

I couldn't say a reason other than, if they want to hear some heavy ass tunes, then jam us. If not they don't we, can't please everyone, and not everyone will be pleased.

11.How do you feel about pay to play? Do you think it is fair for a band to have to pay money to play?

Definitely shouldn't be a thing, but somewhat understandable. Venues and promoters want to see a band draw a crowd. Usually pay to play is just selling tickets. And every band should want to grind for it regardless.

12.It is fact that you are the talent and the entertainment explain what you think is the most important key to success?

Having a "plan", making the right decisions, not being discouraged, and not letting "bad" press get to you. Majority of all success stories had to overcome and make their way. It wasn't easy for anyone. All about keeping the effort and finding the right opportunities.

13.In country music and even in some cases rock music is written and performed by different people would your band perform a song written by someone else?

If it was a collab then yes.

14.If you are pro female in music are you pro using sex to sell your music?

If it works it works. No shame in the game.

15.What is your view on the lawsuits against people saying lewd or unprofessional things to women or men and how does that affect an art described as sex drugs and rock n roll ?

Things shouldn't be said like that, but also people can just be ugly. It will never go away. But it doesn't mean people should just say things lewd or unprofessional, in a professional environment.

16. Ok lets lighten up a bit. What is your favorite band of all time and why?

Wayne- August Burns Red Because I grew up listening to the riffs that were made and inspired me to be in a band.

Robert-probably sabbath can listen to em all day.

Waylon-Dimmu Borgir The chaotic drums and dark symphonic elements behind the shreds and shrieks

17.What would you be doing if you were not in a band?

Wayne- something in marketing and networking promotional skills

Waylon-construction like I do now

Robert- photography/cinematography

18. Do you have a favorite sports team?

Wayne- anything Houston

Waylon-Falcons, not really into sports

Robert- not too big on sports, but the astros are dope

19.If you could get on stage with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Wayne- Slash

Waylon-Chuck Shulinder

Robert- Corey Taylor

20.This is your shot to let loose, Throw down your biggest complaint about the music biz

Wayne- I absolutely hate the cancel culture bs when it is not used for the right reasons, also hate anything about drama in local scene or bigger bands that seems to have "beef". Shit happens,  people will always have different opinions, but doesn't mean we can't be friends.

Waylon-Unnecessary drama, bands and musicians getting ripped off

Robert-just hate the competitiveness between some bands. I see it as a family and want all the dope bands  to succeed i hate seeing bands bashing each other
