FROM THE MOUTH OF MADNESS

It is my site so on occasion I do like to rant, welcome to one such occasion
Lets talk about some just plain truths that effect your life and career as a band and we are going to start with the baby stages of a band i mean garage days early. Lets start with some basic questions and the most important one is.
1. Is this just for fun? Or are you taking this serious?

If you are in this just to get drunk with you buddies and laugh and have fun, you can stop reading. This is for the people who want to take this serious, nothing wrong with jam to have fun guy but you have to question someone who has a mesa boogie and a 3k les paul just for fun. Am I wrong?
Whos ready for question #2?
If you are in this for the long haul and you are shooting for doing blow off of strippers in your champagne filled hot tub in Vegas the next question is.
2.Are the people in the band with you people you in your band people you trust to hold your future in their hands?
Look Billy may be the only guy in the band who's girlfriend
has a place the band can practice but if you spend more time getting Billly out of jail. STOP wasting time on Billy.
Every person in the band should be putting the same amount of time , money and sacrifice as the rest of you and whoever is hitting the chick in that picture is sacrificing A LOT! Its not always about money sometimes the best things you can contribute is time , or bangin the beast for practice space.
Point is EVERYONE should be doing their part! This aint no summer camp Jack this is a mission and the hookers and burritos come later in the game, So if a team member is not in the game kick em to the curb I dont care how cool they are they give 100000% or they are out. Here are some red flags if you watch your band from the outside
1.The person who always has weed but never has a guitar pick.
2.The person who says " my girlfriend thinks we should"
3.The person who hires a photographer for THEMSELVES.
Check back next week as we continue the list of questions all bands should be asking.
