VOKILLS INTERVIEW Frank Palangi

1.Please introduce yourself and tell us who you sing for

Frank Palangi - I'm a Rock Recording Artist - Singer - Song Writer - Guitarist. I've been doing music full time for 11 years now opening for national acts, doing acoustic gigs, producing some local artists and acting on the side. I love the production side of things and been into self producing and mixing lately on my "Set Me Free EP" and my upcoming 2020 EP "Bring On The Fear".

2.What / Who made you want to sing?

James Hatfield from Metallica and Scott Stapp from Creed

3.Who was the first singer you saw live that gave you chills?

idk about the chills ahah but the 3rd singer from Drowning Pool that was in Soil I believe I had seen live at a local club and I thought dang these guys have it together and his vocal was gritty and had that deep tone.

4.Many people say heavy music is just screaming, How would you combat that statement?

ahah heavy music like Ratt to Metallica to Drowing Pool to etc -- it def is singing! it's louder form of singing yes. but you are using everything you got and it fits that style with the music.

5.If you growl or do harsh vocals how do you keep your voice after such violent performances?

I dont' so I have no idea -- I do some low gritty stuff but that's naturally just in my voice. Tea - water -- cough drops - decent diet haah

6. Do you have a warm up routine? Tell u bout it ?

Always hot tea - drink a lot of water where you need to pee a lot haha a little humming and low and high register warm up. I'll go over the low parts of one of my songs or Johnny Cash style then focus on a phraze that's higher in one of my songs and go over that for a few.

7. Do you think power or performance is more important?

Performance I think :) You can have powerful vocals but if you don't have stage presence and performance as rock singer -- it's really boring.

8. Who do you think gets unfair vocal praise, someone the world thinks is great but is not? / And who is great but does not get the credit?

I think both apply. Some "big" top selling artists just sell based on music or look I feel - marketing thing -- and the ones that put in the real time - that still do real music are over looked

9.Name your top 5 vocalist

James Hatfield
Ozzy
Sebastian Bach
Scott Stapp
Jack Russell

10.Micheal Buble or Jim Gallette?

 Just testing your skills here

no comment ahah

11.Who do you love to listen to that would surprise people?.

Powerman 5000 - Michael Jackson - Some 70s funk style music - John Cash

12.If you could remove the autotune from any singer who would it be?

All rappers that use it ahah
