DOWN FOR DAYS COME HOME TO METAL COFFEE!

Down For Days

Down For Days is the brainchild of drummer Paul 'Sandy' Sandefur who after years of playing in cover bands and writing his originals on the side, had amassed many demo's in his home studio that he knew he needed to find the right people to help finish them and get them out to the public.

For vocals, the obvious choice was his former frontman in the cover band 'Nobody's Hero' whom they played together in for years. Jerry possesses the rare combination of being able to sing with power reminiscent of the great Layne Staley as well as with finesse when needed.

The bassist came way of Sandy jamming together in several side projects in the past with a monster bassist named Jordan Goldman. Those projects included a Grunge tribute, a S.O.A.D. tribute and even a classic rock cover band named Hypersoul which they still jam together in to this day. Jordan is a well schooled musician who earned his Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance and a Masters in Classical Music & Education as well as having taught music for a number of years.

And last but not least, our guitarist is Dustin Newbold who is a classically trained guitarist and violinist who holds three music degrees from Belmont University and McKendree University. Dustin is a very technical player highly influenced by the likes of John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Michael Romeo of Symphony X and the great Steve Vai. Dustin possesses a very progressive playing style combined with a neoclassical writing style that makes for a great fit to this current lineup.

And that is how this band came to be. Four musicians who took some simple demos and turned them into some good rock and roll. We have been fortunate to open up for national acts such as Dangerous Toys, Smile Empty Soul, The Veer Union, Broken Teeth, Dead Horse Trauma, Janet Gardner of Vixen and Crazy Town among others. Hopefully we will be able to entertain you with our music and performances.
