What is your name and what do you do for the band?
-We're Black Falcon. Basically, we went back and forth with each other for the longest time trying to figure it out. Eventually, someone sent a picture of a black, lego millenium falcon. Then Dave had the lightbulb moment.
-I'm Jony and I play lead guitar.
2.Tell us where you are based and describe the scene. How do you think where you are located influences your sound.
-We're based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. THe scene here is a bit of a funny one. There's a real buzz and an eclectic mix of bands and artists. For a while it was touch and go though because we lost a bunch of venues and such.
It seemed for a while like it was over, but then some really cool people brought some new venues into the fold, next thing we know, there's bands popping up again. I's
a much more exiting time now.
-I don't know how much it influences what we do, because our aim has always been to be very accessible - whereas certain areas are associated with a particular niche.
3.Who influences your sound that would surprise people?
-Well, I'm a really big fan of Electric Wizard. Liam loves Tom Waits, Dave loves Daft Punk, Lee is really into trip hop right now and Richard is a die hard Rush fan. So I
can see how some of that could be surprising to some.
4.Are you endorsed by musical companies , if so who , and if not who would you like to be endorsed by?
-No we're not endorsed. But it would be great to be endorsed by string, stick, drum head and cymbal companies... the essentials.
5.When you started what was your ultimate goal? And how close to the goal are you now?
-I don't think we started with an ultimate goal really. We definitely wanted to take it as far as we could. Playing academies, putting an album out, getting some great supports
etc. I mean we've done two of them now, so it's certainly time to reevaluate. But we do have a lot of ideas about what we want to be doing going forward.
6.In today's digital environment it takes creative strategy to keep things moving. What creative ideas do you have to keep your band relevant over time?
- We like to make sure we're keeping on top of all the new technologies and platforms that are out there. We also recognise that digital isn't the only thing out there right
now making an impact. It can't have escaped anyone's notice how well vinyl is doing right now. So good old fashioned physical releases are still relevant too.
7.We've all seen a terrible live band that is awesome on CD. Is that cool with you or do you lose respect for bands that cannot pull it off live?
-Oddly enough, I kinda do. A good album is all well and good, but the essence of music is live. So if you can't deliver the goods in person, it's pretty much dropping the ball
for me.
8.Tell us your “core” are you Metal , Rock , Punk , Pop etc because people just have to categorize these days you know?
-I guess we're rock. But I like to think that people take away their own interpretation of us.
9.This is a tough question but a very real reality, Is your band actually talented or just popular?
Many bands make it with a cliche or publicity stunts etc. Would you accept fame even if it was just because of being the “ in” thing or is it actually important to you that you gain favor with talent?
-Well lets establish what's popular first. I guess it's metalcore right? And I think we're about as far removed from that as you can be without being Lionel Richie. So I'd like to say we're talented at
what we do. I would accept fame if what we did was the "in" thing. But I certainly wouldn't change what we do just to garner record sales.
10.Tell us what to expect from you live. Nothing is more boring than watching bands stare at the floor and bob their heads to music nobody but the band knows. What can your band offer in a live setting that people will remember?
- A rock n' roll show. It's what we do. We rehearse hard, we work on our sets and we put it out there. We don't waste our own time and we certainly aren't going to waste yours.
11. What releases have you put out , When will we see something new?
- We put out an EP called "Living in Me" back in 2016. That was our first release. Since then we rolled out two singles and then most recently, we released our debut album "Turn Around and Face the Sun" in
October 2018. You can probably expect something new probably in the next 18 months or so. What form that will take is anyone's guess.

Why do you think this is so important? Doesn't it seem like everyone is giving everything out for free?
-I have no idea. But I think Henry Rollins said it best when he said "I'd rather be heard than paid"
14.Best moment of your career so far?
-Supporting Puddle of Mudd was dope. That show was sold out. It's a straight draw between that and Bill Bailey meeting us and digging our stuff.
15.Your message to the fans?
