Whispers Of October INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Our band was started by our singer, Mindy Hauck,  in 2015. Over the course of two years, she tried out many different musicians before finally finding our drummer, Darren "Beazl" Beasley, guitar player, Seth Ledbetter, and bass player, Gary Belcher. The four of us got along incredibly well together and it just felt right, so we decided then that this was our band.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The name Whispers of October is actually an In This Moment spoken track. Mindy named it when she decided to start a band. She loves ITM and being born in October, and starting everything in October, it just seemed perfect.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based out of central Missouri. Our music scene here is diverse, but mostly country and  rock with some metal sprinkled in. One of the bands we really had a good time with recently was T.R.O.Y, those guys rock hard.

4. How would you describe your style?

Our style of music is probably best described as a mix of melodic and alternative metal. We try not to focus on any particular label. To quote a fan, "If Halestorm and Stone Sour had a baby, and In This Moment and Korn had a baby,  then those two babies got together and had a baby,  that baby would be Whispers of October "

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

As of right now, we have three singles available to download. You can expect a mixture of clean vocals, growly vocals, and heavy music with lyrics you can understand and relate to.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have one new recording that's being released soon for download,  and two new songs we just debuted last weekend that we'll be playing live and hopefully recording soon.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We don't have any tours planned out just yet, but hopefully we can figure one out before too long. We have a couple shows lined out in the next few months. We'll be playing in Jefferson City on the 4th of July, then at Fubar in St. Louis on July 29th, we'll be opening for Otep, and on September 10th we'll be in Kansas City, opening for No Raza at The Riot Room.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We're planning out a stage show for the future, so that we have a little more theatrics during shows, we're also going to be doing more recording, hopping on as many shows and festivals, etc. as we can, and possibly entertaining the idea of touring, even if it's just a mini tour.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to us on Spotify, YouTube, our website, and most other streaming sites, and you can buy our music on Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, and our website.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The first time you listen to our music, we want you to feel the emotion that we've tried so hard to put into it. We write from our souls, and we pour ourselves into the music, so that people will hopefully listen and relate and feel like they're not alone in their own emotions or thoughts. We want to connect with you.
