SINSID INTERVIEW

Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Well, after leaving Zeno Morf in the end of 2009, I (Terje) felt the urge to play live again and formed SINSID in early 2012, simply just as a cover band. We covered songs from Manowar, Motorhead, Pentagram, Grave Digger, Accept just to name a few. After a few years, I guess around 2014, we started pitching ideas for our own songs and that’s when we began our focus on creating a full album. It took us 3years before we got in the studio for recording, but we had a few set-backs due to change of band members.

As for our current line-up, Sten Roger who is our lead guitarist came from a more blues and classic rock background.

Our drummer Robin Wick, has more of a prog rock background.

The bassist Grzegorz joined us just after studio recordings; he has played in death metal bands for over 15 years.

Even Håvold comes from doom and heavy metal background. He originally joined SINSID in 2014 on bass, but had to leave in 2016 due to family issues. He thereafter returned January 2018 on rhythm guitar.

What’s the origin of the band’s name?
I (Terje) actually came up with the name by putting my middle name Singh together with my last name Sidhu, SINSID.

Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there?
We are based in Haugesund, the west coast of Norway.

Are there any local bands you could recommend?
The most recognized bands from our area would probably be Einherjer and Enslaved. But there are several other such as Zeno Morf, Pictures Of Pain, Fear Theories and Shakma.

How would you describe your style?
I find it kind of hard to pinpoint us in a style, as you will find so many different elements in our songs, but to make it easy I would suggest that we play old school heavy metal.

What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
This is our first album from SINSID. But I released one album with Zeno Morf in 2008. I think they could expect a “in your face” old school metal with a lot of catchy lyrics.

Do you have any new music in the works?
We actually have two songs ready for the next album, hopefully it will be released in 2020.

How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We are open to touring, one of the main reasons for being in a band is to play live, but we all have jobs and families to prioritize. However, we are scheduled to play Ålvik Rock fest, and have a few support acts in the works. Let’s see what happens.

What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We are planning on releasing another album in 2020, and hopefully play a few festivals before that.

Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
www.sinsid.com , www.pitchblackrecords.com and at local record shops.

What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
That this was awesome!
