Anthems For Autumn Interview

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band started a couple of years ago when we all decided to form a band with the musicians we all liked from playing around the local scene.  We all happened to be "in between" bands at the moment and decided to from a project to see where it would go.  The rest is history I guess.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band's name came from brain storming session that lasted a few days.  We were all trying to come up with a name by playing with words and nothing seemed to stick.  One day we just came up with "Anthems For Autumn" by playing around with words and we decided to go with it.

 3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band is based out of Point Pleasant NJ and the local scene is mostly DJ's and cover bands.  It's very hard around here to make it playing original music.  There are some great bands from this area like End of an Era, Killcode(from the NY area), and J and the 9's who recently moved out to Ca to make something happen.

4. How would you describe your style?

We like to say our style is hard rock with an electronic edge.

 5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released a 3 song demo so far and will have a full length CD ready for release in September through a local label called Bongo Boy Records.  You can expect a powerful female vocally driven musical experience to wash over you when you listen to our stuff!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We currently don't have any shows planned since we are focusing on getting all of our new material recorded in time for September.  We are open to playing "one-off" shows here and there during the process tho.  We love to perform when we get the chance.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
see #6

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

As far as our future goes, we would like to continue to create new music and tour/meet new people and connect with people that enjoy our shows/music.  We would eventually like to be signed to a label that believes in us and works with us to get us to a level where we can financially do this for a living.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen and see Anthems For Autumn at anthemsforautumn.com.  Our site is set up like an EPK, so it's very easy to navigate to videos, pics, and songs.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

I guess we would just like a listener to be affected and empowered by our music.  The best music out there is the kind that talks to you and speaks to what you're feeling.  It would be an amazing thing if we could be one of those bands to someone!!
