Anonymous Henchmen – “Reborn”

With a sound that reminds me of All that Remains, this 5-piece band hailing from San Antonio, Texas is one to check out. This 10 song album released this year is full of catchy riffs and great lyrics.

All the songs on this album were well thought out and each delivers a different meaning. The vocal style is mainly clean, with some deeper tones thrown in. While maintaining heavier riffs, I could see this band making it on the radio with their rock/metal vibe. Production of the cd was done well, with each song delivering a new sound. No sound the same syndrome here! I also found many songs of theirs on u-tube, with videos to go along with them (not just live performances, although those are on there as well.) While not the heaviest band out there, they are not one to be overlooked. Check them out at anonymous-henchmen.com (San Antonio, TX)

Beyond Forgiveness – “The Great Wall” (November, 2017)

Hailing from Colorado in 2009, this 4-piece female fronted band is goth with symphonic undertones and a subtle hint of power metal thrown in The vocal style is an operetta style, and not at all aggressive with a splash of deeper more aggressive death metal style male vocals thrown in. It was hard for me to listen to this one, as many of the 10 (quite long except for 1) songs on the album were similar in nature. It got a bit heavier at times, but the same, slow vocal style got in the way of my enjoyment.They also have an EP from 2016 titled “The Ferryman’s Shore”. Having listened to a few songs from this EP, fans of the band will most likely enjoy this album. More information about them can be found at www.beyondforgiveness.net (Colorado)
