Its that time again!!!  The Unsigned Band of the Month for August is DREAMS IN PERIL.

Formed in 2018, they are a hardcore metal band from Kansas City, Missouri.

We spoke to the band in our exclusive interview,  let's get started with that:

1.) What's the name of your band and where are you located.

Answer: We are Dreams In Peril and we are located out of Kansas City, Missouri.

2.) Where did you all meet and describe to us how you formed your band.

Answer: We all played shows together when we were in other bands. We all know each other from our local scene and one day, One thing led to another and we formed Dreams In Peril.

3.) How did you decide your band name?

Answer: After all of us being in several different bands and not achieving the success that we had hoped for and as we were all trying to come up with the name of our new band, I came up with the name while I was working one day. I thought of everything we had all been through and how it felt like our Dreams were in Peril. Lol I thought to myself… hmmm I bet a lot of people could relate to that. And thus, it became the name!

4.) How long have you been a band?

Answer: Going on 3 years now. And what a crazy ride it has been!

5.) Tunings?

Answer: Drop A

6.) Bands you have played with?

Answer: To sum up the list… In no Particular order: Between The Buried and Me, The Acacia Strain, Veil Of Maya, Born Of Osiris, Origin, Beneath the Massacre, ERRA, The Agony Scene, The Browning, Mushroom Head, Upon A Burning Body, Volumes, Slaughter To Prevail, Skinlab, Bleed the Sky, Entheos, Terror Universal, and many others!

7.) Major accomplishments?

Answers: We won the 2018 Headbang for the highway in which lead us to play on the Summer Slaughter Tour, Then we signed to Our management “Extreme Management Group” (Cattle Decapitation, Origin, Suffocation, Misery Index)
Most recently we signed into a Booking Agency with Wavelink Agency and look to be hitting the road with a new album in 2021.

8.) Goals?

Answer: As a band, right now our goals are to start up an Online Merchandise store, Possibly with Indie Merch or with a label. Our main goal is to complete and record our second Record and shop it to labels with our management. In which we have already spoken to a few labels and sent out introduction letters. Then, We look to use that label to springboard and use the resources available to mass promote and take advantage of what that label has to offer without going in debt. haha

9.) Tell us about your Biggest/ best show?

Answer: So many to name.. But I would have to say The Summer Slaughter tour. We played the Kansas City date right in our home town with a bunch of bands we all look up to and grew up listening to, it was so surreal. There is no better feeling than to get to play with your Idols.

10.) Any radio airplay?

Answer: Yes! Thanks to Metal Coffee PR and some emailing of our own, We cant even begin to tell you all of them because there is so many! I lost count.

11.) Any Label interest yet?

Answer: As I had previously stated. Yes! We have been talking to and speaking to labels with the help of our management. But we are in no hurry to rush it. We want to make sure we get the best deal possible that will work both for the benefit of the label and us,

12. Let's discuss the demographics of your social  media accounts.
Where are people listening to you the most based off of your Spotify and YouTube, etc accounts?

Answer: Spotify, Youtube, iTunes, Amazon music and now PANDORA!

13.) Any awards like Battle of the Band winner, Band of the Month, etc?
Answer: Yes! Before this, we won Headbang for the highway, And we had also been band of the month with a promotion company in Isreal.

14.) How are you marketing your band?

Answer: All over and with everything we got. Through every social Media Platform as well as through Metal Coffee PR and our management. Sometimes, its through riding the coat tails of some of the bigger and more established bands. But to be bluntly honest, our popularity just springs up at times.

15.) Let's discuss your gear.

Answer: This can really get in Depth. Haha…  I dont feel like I could properly explain this answer in detail in this interview.

16.) Day jobs?

Answer: Currently, we have been going through a vocalist change and we basically have a guy down but have yet to announce him as of yet. But.. Yes. we all have day jobs, From Making dice for Casinos, Garage Door Repairman to being a bus Driver for the schools… lol

17.) Describe your music to us in one sentence.

Answer: Dynamic, Heavy and Dreamy!

18.) Influences?

Answer: To just name a few for all of us: The Acacia Strain, Deftones, Suicide Silence, Oceano, Whitechapel

19.) Can you explain what you want to accomplish on stage???

Answer: We want to engage the audience and excite them! We want to give them hope and understanding within not only our music but in how we bring it to them live. A Dreams In Peril show is an experience to witness.

20.) What would your band like to accomplish if you were signed?

Answer: We would like to create more revenue, Tour more with bigger artists and travel out of country, Massively promote our music on a much larger scale and just be heard and seen. To be seen and held in a bigger light than we have ever been before.

Let's get started on some of the music, we'll start with their latest release,
"NECKTIES AND NOSTALGIA"

Really well shot video,  it was like I was watching TV..
Music starts out hard and this band gets down.. some serious riffing here..
Vocals are perfect love the voice..
They get a HUGE sound with only three instruments..
That's quite the gallop on those verse riffs..
Lots of high energy here I bet this would be SIC live..
One of the better breakdowns I've heard in a while..
Brutal song from start to finish.

We reviewed the album MEPHOBIA as well, pretty brutal stuff here, lower tunings make this as heavy as it gets. The vocals range from deep gutturals to higher pitched screams on songs like "Make Your Martyr", "Villainry" and "Makeshift Motives".
There's a lot of complex riffing going on here,  and the drums are always on point. You can feel the bass lines in songs such as "Placebo" and "Seldom Solace" as well. There's a few slower parts mixed in perfectly with the more up tempo arrangements creating a smooth attack and flow. Really a great job on the mixing and mastering side too.. the band seems to combine all the right sounds into one.

Highly recommended...
