Symetria Interview

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band is Symetria, we started out later in 2016, and began writing to record around August/Sept that year.  Recorded in early 2017, and released our debut "Symetria" on Sept 29th of 2017.  5 guys who have some different and diverse influences all gelling together and putting out what comes from it.  A little bit of everything from all over the metal spectrum al wrapped up into one, Symetria

 2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Although it is the polish word for Symmetry, it really came from a random thought by my (Vince) son Gino who just blurted out in the car one day "Symetria, that'd be a good name for a band"  Originally we were talking about using it as a concept album idea, balance, good/bad, light/dark, type effect....but when we looked up the Urban Dictionary definition it read --- Beautiful, Humble, Balanced, and Intelligent.  A perfect dream.---- it was perfect

 3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? 

Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band is based out of Flemington, NJ.  There is an OK local scene here.  The bands in the scene are great about supporting each other and everybody is like a big family for the most part.  Of course there are bands to recommend, Corners of Sanctuary, Signs of Madness, Sister Salvation just to name a few

 4. How would you describe your style?

 LOL, Style, that has been something we don't normally describe, we just call it Heavy Metal. I will explain a little, A long time ago there was only Heavy Metal, and new bands would grab their favorite pieces and write music just in those song style.  That is how the subgenre was born...we do not fit any subgenre.  Our sound is like a Heavy Metal mix tape, all the best stuff rolled into an album of killer tunes that can play the whole way through.  Just like how it all started.  Every song has a feeling, an emotion to it that does more then just play through.

 6. Do you have any new music in the works? 

We are currently 5 songs into the next recording, with dozens of bits and pieces being tossed about to turn into the rest of the album.  The first one was like BANG here it is, in all its old school influenced glory, the new stuff will without a doubt prove that we are in fact a fresh new band with the chops to be around a long time.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Were always playing shows, and we are just starting to look into touring as well.

 8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Future plans you ask.... rule the world.  This is my last band, I say that at 37 years old not because I am quitting, but because this is the band.  This is the sound I have been trying to find with the right people I've been looking for for 20 years.  Symetria is here to stay for the next 25 years or more, and our music will be here forever.

 10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time

 When you hear our music for the first time I want people to remember that feeling of your head just starting to bob up and down, and your not sure why...that connection to you that makes you remember why you fell in love with music in the first place...the smile that comes across your face as your listening.  You cant even say the word Symetria without smiling, it just kinda happens.
