Ohhhhhhhh it's a Label? Cult of Osiris INTERVIEW

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Cult of Osiris is a digital black metal label. It was formed this year by Grim Darkthrone. It is built from the ashes of extreme cassette label Old Lion Recordings.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Cult of Osiris is named after a philosophical text that Grim Darkthrone (who always refers to himself in the 3rd person) has been writing. The name comes from Osiris the Egyptian God of rebirth. The text is all about rebuilding yourself as a better version of what you have now, a rebirth. It also seemed fitting to apply the name to this label.

 3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Cult of Osiris will be a worldwide digital brand. We are based in Leeds, England but will not be supporting a scene here but rather the black metal and dsbm scene across the globe.

4. How would you describe your style?

DIY

 5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Our first release will be an album by Uten Håp. We will follow that up with an EP from Bitter Lake. Both are fantastic black metal projects. Find them on bandcamp at http://utenhap.bandcamp.com and http://officialbitterlake.bandcamp.com

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are always looking to work with exciting black metal musicians! Get in touch!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Both our current acts are one man projects. They don't get out much. We will glady try to support any of our acts looking to grab shows.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We plan to become the leading black metal label in the world. That and really start a cult...

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Websites, facebook, bandcamp and all that jazz is coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled!

That our bands fucking rock. That our label philosophy is truly a new approach. Join the cult now!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
