1. Please tell us about the history of your band and it’s members?
Our bio and history is in our RN press kit - http://www.reverbnation.com/rpk/downfordays
2. What is the origin of the bands name?
Our band name can be interpreted in a couple of different ways which is exactly what we were after. As day vs night, it can be referenced as a positive as somebody tired of the dark and ready for the light. It is also a reference from our lead singer who battles depression and is in fact ‘down for days’ in his constant struggle.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based out of Houston, TX. Our music scene is solid. Being a very large city there are many talented bands that you can see any given weekend. However, being such a big city, there is always things going on for people for people to do which can hurt the music scene indirectly. All genres of music are on display here from cover to originals to tributes. Bands that I would recommend - Carry The Storm is a killer extreme metal band and Masqued is a powerful progressive rock band. Echo Temple is also a band I would recommend. Too many to list . . .
4. How would you describe your style?
Good question . . . been trying to figure that one out ourselves. lol There is definitely a 90’s hard rock/hair metal quality to our material but many different musical influences to what we play. It’s a hard/dark theme of music for sure.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We have released one EP to date, and are going back into the studio this month to start on the second EP. You can expect an emotional story in all of our works as we sing about real struggles and todays life as a whole.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes, we will begin recording our second EP at the end of June as we have many songs already written and demo’d and waiting for us to get into the studio.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We are all veterans of the music scene and of course play out when we can. We also play in other bands so we stay connected with musicians in houston as well as in other cities. Short tours are possible if the right pairing and opportunity presents itself. This band has been playing around Houston for the past two years and the current lineup for about a year. It is a process and when our fanbase is appropriate more opportunities will present itself.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We plan to continue to get this fledgeling band noticed and heard as we have more music to share. As we get more songs completed in the studio we plan to continue to play shows around Houston and surrounding cities.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Down For Days is on many social platforms. You can find our music on ITunes, CD Baby, Spotify, ReverbNation, Soundcloud and YouTube. We also have a store where we have our EP, shirts, stickers ect on our Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/DownForDays/
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
What we’d like people to remember is the raw emotion that we play/sing with and hope that some can relate and enjoy the music we create.
